What more could you ask for, for this price?

(5 out of 5) by M. A. GRIFFITHS on Jan 15, 2007 (Birmingham, UK)
I was looking originally for a 5.1 DVD home cinema, but then realised that all i wanted was some loud, good quality speakers, and my PC supplies music, films, games ect ect...

If this is what you are after look no further than these speakers, for the money, they are loud, great quality and incredible bass (i have it set on 1 of 10, and it thumps through the floor well enough at that).

Only recommendations are these, make sure you have a sound card (preferably Creative(tm)) as this makes setting them up easy as you just select 5.1.

Also, if you find when you set them all up, they do not work, here is one big tip that i see over and over again on Creative forums and technical help. MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUSH THE FRONT RIGHT SPEAKER CONNECTION IN HARD. RAM IT IN. MAKE SURE THE BLUE LED IS ON THE RIGHT SPEAKER THEN YOU KNOW YOU HAVE POWER.

Many people gently put it in and think they have broken speaker, i did until i did this and they work perfectly now.

When nothing is playing they are almost silent, you really have to get on your knees and put your head by the box to hear even the slightest buzz. They do not pick up any radio signals!!!

Setting up is simple enough, it doesnt really require a guide but creative supply a basic picture guide.

All in all, a fantastic quality sound system even it was twice the price i would be impressed.

Great for the price!

(4 out of 5) by C. Pritchard on Jun 23, 2007 (Yorkshire, UK)
These speakers were easy to set up. All speakers plug into the subwoofer, the subwoofer plugs into the mains and a cable from the subwoofer has the required 3 connectors for your sound card. Turn the speakers on by the rotating knob on the right front speaker, a blue light comes on, rotate to adjust the volume and you're away!

These speakers look nice and compliment my black monitor nicely. The speakers are wall mountable too but I personally don't need that.

Sound quality is good for the price and more than adequate for gaming and music on the PC but of course it's silly to expect top home cinema performance at this price but they do a good job. The subwoofer really makes this system, adding the necessary rumble which is pretty powerful and will shake your floor a little, annoying anyone underneath. The subwoofer has it's own volume control which is very handy and even on it's lowest setting with the computer setting at it's highest, it can still kick out the lower frequencies to add enough ambience in games and movies. Turning the volume up anything past 50% full volume can be overkill as the bass dominates everything. They give great atmosphere in games and as well as general PC use, is the best use of these speakers, although they cope fairly well with movies too if you like to sit and watch movies on your PC or in bed.

The frequency range is 40hz - 20Khz, although barely noticeable, I would have liked it to cover the full standard 20hz - 20Khz range, but this is a minor point on what is a great set of speakers. I gave them 4 stars based on the frequency range covered and overall sound quality with games (Prey & Call of duty 2 mostly), movies (Superman returns, Lord of the rings & top gun) and music (Dance, R&B and light rock). I doubt you'll get this value for money anywhere. If you are in the market for 5.1 speakers for your PC then look no further! Highly recommended.

Good but not exceptional

(3 out of 5) by R. Barnett on Oct 2, 2007 (Kent, UK)
I bought these speakers looking for something to make listening to music just a bit more special. I have found these speakers to be excellent value for money, but they aren't amazing.
The subwoofer is the strongest point of the set. It gives an excellent bass to really give the music some backbone. The front speakers with the tweeters are also good.
However, what lets this set down are the rear and centre speakers. Its a pain to get much sound out of them, and to be honest i doubt i would hear a lot of different if this was a 2.1 setup.
The wires are also quite short so you are limited in where you can put them, but these are adequate speakers for home use.

amazing product, EVEN MORE AMAZING PRICE !

(5 out of 5) by N. Mcguinness on Nov 21, 2006 (Windsor, UK)
Wow! I've been looking for a set of 5.1 speakers for my PC for some time, but the ones i'd seen were either boring in looks, or had terrible reviews for sound. I know that Creative speakers sound great as I already bought a set of 3330 for our mp3 players , and I was really pleased to see that these T6100s looked great too. I was impressed with the quick delivery (free!) and was instantly blown away with the real looks, better than the pictures even! So yeah! they really DO look and sound amazing, but the best thing though is the price! I dunno how Amazon can do it, but £39.99 is an absolute corker of a price. Truly sale of the century!!! Anyone who is reading this - this is the best bargain on the site! Music sounds loud and powerful (the bass literally shakes my room when its on full!), and the upmix function means that even normal music from iTunes or MP3s sound sound like DVD audio, with sounds pinging around the room - MAD !!!! I play a few computer games, and now I can hear people sneaking up behind me in Battlefied2 and Quake4 has become a scary scary game with the lights off !!! If you are looking for surround sound speakers for your PC, don't look any further....phew

I'm lovin' it!

(5 out of 5) by Mr. A. Tran on Dec 15, 2006 (UK)
It changed my musical experience!

Every song in my library is now almost a new one to me! I can hear the voice of the single so real, the bass is outstanding when I turn on a hip-hop or a rock song. I realised that some of my classical songs are much better, I can hear the sound of ... more instruments! So strange, but so good! lovely!

I only have a laptop - which is quite good actually as my housemates always think that I did really have a speakers system, but I didn't - untill now.

£[...]is a suitable price for a Christmas gift, for myself. But it really does insprie me! After setup the whole system, I recognised that my sound card doesn't support a 5.1 speakers system - so sad that I can only have 3 out of 6 working at the moment. But guess what! When I used that so-called-half-system to enter the "sound war" of my house (we live on campus residences, so much fun!) my lovely speakers won! It beaten even the £[...] system which look much bigger than this! I won!!!

I'm waiting for the new soundcard so I can have my full system works, and I bet it'll change my experience on music one more time.

The look of the system is so cool! It's not just a speakers system, it's a decorating system. Trust me, it's worth your money (you save a lot as well). You don't have to hesitate when you choose Creative rite ;)

A few problems:
- setting up took me around 1 hour, at first there wasn't any sound, scared me to the death! but then I found out that I didn't plug-in the AC-adapter the full way in.
- the rear speakers come with slightly short cable (3.5 - 4.0 m or something like that) it's ok for a small room on campus but if you want to use it in a big living room, you'd better think of extension cables.

Thanks Creative - Thanks Amazon!
