Best Camera I've ever purchased

(5 out of 5) by S. Stingel on Nov 9, 2006 (Redwood City, CA United States)
If you're looking for a highly-portable and great performing camera, this is the one to choose! My initial intention was to get a "pocket" camera to be able to carry conveniently while traveling, and I was prepared to trade off image quality for compactness. Much to my surprise, the features and quality of this small camera rival even my much larger and more expensive Canon Rebel XT. The Sony starts up fast, is ruggedly built, gets great battery life, is simple to use, and takes pictures of very high quality. Really couldn't ask for more...

Superb camera for every event and special moment

(5 out of 5) by Mrs. Caroline J. Butterworth on Mar 8, 2007 (Somerset UK)
Fantastic camera. Small easy to take around with you. I have mine in my handbag always. If used with 2GB Memory you will always have space for that photo. Video and picture quality superb. Colours are true and detail sharp.
Totally recommend this camera.
Hard to believe the pictures you produce are from such a small camera - in my opinion comparable with a digital SLR.

Excellent ultra compact camera

(5 out of 5) by D. Kalra on Mar 24, 2007 (United Kingdom)
Design 5 stars
Built quality 5 stars.
Screen 5 stars
Image quality - 4 Stars. Image quality outdoors in the evening looked good enough, In proper sunlight is excellent. I took pictures in pitch black using flash - output - good pictures. Indoors u can see some grains again that is because of poor lighting, if you increase the flash strength and use iso 80 , preety good pictures.
Also I liked the camera as you can use different focus areas, I wanted a camera to get the complete scene in detail that is u can see the object near and far with same focus no blurness.
Another hit is the slideshow with music, its superb , u can also play it staright on Tv with the provided wire.
To conclude best ultra compact camera with decent pictures, lots of style and ofcourse its a sony.

Not what its cracked up to be

(2 out of 5) by M. Plant on Nov 12, 2007 (cumbria, UK)
I bought this camera based upon previous reviews. It certainly ticked all the boxes, but after using it for the last six months I must express my dissapointment with its actual performance. I have a five month old baby, which is why I bought the camera really, in order to be sure that I got loads of great pics. However, with this digital camera I find that if you try using it with the flash off, in any conditions, you end up with a very blurred image, certainly none worth keeping. If you try using it with the flash on, it actually takes the camera three seconds to take the picture, meanwhilst the poor little tike has been blinded by the repeating flash, and is therefore sitting with his eyes closed by the time the camera finally gets round to closing the shutter. The repeated flash is in order to prevent red eye, but depite this, most of the pictures taken with the flash on still result in the subject having red eye. I do think that people are being blinded by the fact that its a Sony, and therefore must be great; dont be fooled!! Overall, a big dissapointment, its tempting to go back to my old 1.2mp £70 olympus, the picture quality may not be great but at least it works!

Can't Fault It!

(5 out of 5) by W. Gwyn on Jun 2, 2007 (Wirral, Cheshire, UK)
First of all, when it arrived I was stunned at its size! It really is tiny, small and slim enough to fit in a pocket on a pair of jeans, making it perfect for going out with etc.

Secondly, the pictures which it takes are fantastic! The Super Steady Shot feature really helps to avoid blurring - I haven't taken a single blurry photo yet out of about 100.

The battery life is also good at the moment, I'm getting over 2 hours of power with each charge (but obviously this will decrease with time.)

One criticism of the camera which I could make would be that, due to its small size, when it's dark it's hard to see which button you're pressing, and I have often ended up pressing two at once.

Other than this very minor criticism, it's definitely the best camera I have ever owned (upgraded from a DSC-T3), and well worth the money!
