This is the second Pentax Optio W10 I have bought (one for each of my two teenage daugters), following the success of an earlier Pentax Optio WR bought for my wife about 5 years ago. About 10 months earlier, I had bought a wretched Canon Ixus for my youngest daughter who wanted the smallest camera she could get. In short the Ixus failed in a month, and failed again after a warranty repair (which required shipping to US - long story). Bought the W10 to replace it, because a previous one bought for my other daughter has been a big success. No worries about sand or dust ingress because the zoom is entirely contained within the camera (think it is mounted sideways with a prism behind the lens). Doesn't need a case and can be taken anywhere, particularly good on the beach, at swimming pools, etc.

I've had my Optio 10 for 3 or 4 years now, the picture quality is fantastic, mail me at wetleg1@hotmail.com if you need proof, you'll be astounded. Get it wet, no worries, take pics in the rain, take pics on the beach with sand everywhere, no worries, its a beast of a camera. I've used it up at 11,000ft in snow and at 33c on the beach in Egypt and it performs like a dream. Best £120 you'll ever spend on a point and shoot camera. The W60 is now the newer model but the W10 is probably just as good and more robust. I used to plop mine in me pint as a party trick, but be careful to have the waterlock on if you do this hehehe...cheers and happy snapping....
