OK but could be better

(3 out of 5) by Mr. X. Jacquel on Oct 9, 2009 (UK)
The sound is ok but the bass are not very powerful. The biggest problem for me is the fact that it's no possible to do "fast forward" or "fast backward" when listening to a MP3 CD, but only on classic audio CD.

Simply Great

(5 out of 5) by Mr. N. J. Bayliss on Aug 4, 2009 (Warwickshire)
As somebody reviewing this before I bought this quite rightly said it is large for a portable; however, it is a nice sounding machine that can be used as a permanent fixture even in large rooms. It's CD drawer is more rigid than many of the CD players and the playback is wonderful. I have not put the tape section to test as I have transferred them to CD. FM Radio sounds OK - that is the only drawback when the switch over rears its ugly head. Still, digital is a nicer option and until then, I will stick with this.

supreme portability

(5 out of 5) by bjwoods on Apr 29, 2009 (liverpool uk)
if, like me, you don't listen to radio and like me you own lots of cds,and you like to play your music in the bathroom or garden then this is the product for you. i have had three of these 20w panasonics in the last 5 years.the batteries last 50 hours+ on loud cd. their is no product out there that comes close to the awesome wattage of this machine, in fact iv'e seen boom boxes at £80 with 2w per channel, nothing compares to the price, portability and power of this musical marvel. sorry i don't listen to cassettes, why would i in this day and age and the drivel from radio djs ugh, so can't really comment on those features,so if its just for your cd collection, played loud with no distortion absolutely anywhere you like, then this is for you.......i can assure you, you wont be disappointed.......enjoy

pity about the radio

(2 out of 5) by Pete's Dragon on Dec 5, 2008 (UK)
We wanted a cassette/CD/radio player. I thought Panasonic were a good make so I chose this. To give it its due, the CD played sounds fantastic. But as other people have said, the radio is hissy and horrible, even radio 4 and classic FM. So it's going back, and we are going to get a lead to attach an existing cassette player to the computer and will record our cassettes to mp3 and thence to CD. Cost: £4.50 for a lead.
