Philips Universal Remote

(5 out of 5) by D. Allison on May 8, 2009 (Hampshire, UK)
I had already bought one of these for my 91 year old mum who has failing eyesight, so when my girlfriend's 100 year old mum bought a new TV I got her one too. It is a bit bigger than a normal modern remote, but more importantly it has larger than average, clear, well spaced out buttons which are colour coded. It is easy to set up and if you already have a Philips TV/VCR/DVD no set up is required at all.
A great product for the price, particularly for those who don't see too well any more. Both of my ladies are delighted with the product!

Remote Control Philips

(4 out of 5) by Ian Watson on May 6, 2009
Superb inexpensive substitute for my original controller, except that I haven't worked out yet how to use the video-plus numbers (if its possible). No set-up was required - just activated the batteries and it worked immediately. Delivery was quick.

Purchased this for my elderly mother. Good sized clear buttons are a bonus. This is an easy to use and robust rmote control.

Not what it claimed

It says on the box 'Has all the original remote's essential keys'.
I bought it because our old Philips TV was not bright enough and there was no brightness key on the TV because it was part of their remote control. This Universal Philips remote did not have that facility - and I searched the booklet for a way to do it - all in vain. We've had to throw the old TV away, and did not replace it with a Philips
