Blown away!

(5 out of 5) by N. Rowland on Nov 25, 2006 (London)
This is the first real piece of hi-fi I've bought in the last ten years or so and I am stunned by the quality. I had no idea things had come on so far. Just bought it for the bedroom but am considering moving it back downstairs. The quality of the sound at very low volume is great, this is how I always judge things as a rule.
Easy to use remote control and a great alarm function as well.

Try it, you might like it...

(4 out of 5) by Mr. B. Krolick on Mar 23, 2007 (London)
I read all the reviews for this Stereo. I was concerned about all the negative feedback, especially with regards to the DAB radio. But, as the product is really the only system within it's price range to have such a varied selection of features, I purchased the unit any way. I was not dissapointed. I live in North London, and could pick up tonnes of DAB stations, even with the DAB aerial laying on the floor. True, the sound quality isn't superb, but at £160, what do you expect. Nice and loud, but not accurate enough to get 5 stars.

Great Micro Hi-Fi

(5 out of 5) by Mr. G. Tempest on Nov 19, 2007 (Southend UK)
Very pleased. Does all we want in our conservatory. Radio works fine and I'm impressed with the variety of DAB channels. CD autochanger is brilliant.

For the DAB radio the aerial position is important and horizontal was best. However, thats not where I wanted it so most of the cable was used up on a vertical run up to the conservatory roof. The way to get back a good signal was to extend the wire by about 12 ft, this is now my main horizontal run. I had some almost identical wire and joined it by twisting and soldering before sleeving over (heatshrink). If you dont have a soldering iron there should be no problems with just a twisted connection.

Bought Alpahson AMS45 Speaker stands which are spot on for the units.

Weird - but in a cute way

(4 out of 5) by M. White on Dec 13, 2007
An audio cassette deck with an MP3 playing 3 CD autochanger.Add DAB /FM tuner and you've got the 70s 80s 90s and 00's covered.
The DAB works fine at my location, as does the FM radio - both with the supplied length of wire ariel .(which is the only ariel option)

Good Points : Sound quality, Price , aux input (for computer in my case)
Bad Points : Speaker lead length ( v.short) ,aux input is on the front.

Finally and most weirdly - NO BALANCE control - thats right unless you can site the speakers equidistant from yourself you've got a problem.

Great value....

(4 out of 5) by Alice 35 on Jul 18, 2007 (Staffs, England)
After searching through all the Sony stereo's and reading reviews I was a little wary as to whether i had ordered the right one! But....it was here within 48hrs, so simple to set up, DAB works brilliantly, crystal clear sound and of a good quality! Cant fault it at all (apart from i can't connect it to the tv like my old one...hence no 5 stars) If you are debating, dont worry it is a great stereo!
