Excellent, with one annoying flaw

(4 out of 5) by Robin Setty on Oct 23, 2007 (London United Kingdom)
There's hardly anything wrong with this device. There are four different alarm settings, two of which can be set for a particular day. This means, if I have to get up early, I don't have to reset the alarm for my wife! It also means, we can set a later time for holidays / weekends, without having to reset the time. The display is fine, if a little too bright at night (so I tilt the alarm away from my pillow) and the sound quality is very good for a box of this size and price.

The only gripe - to save twenty seconds, twice a year, Sony decided to provide a daylight savings button to push the current time forward or back an hour. That's fine, but it would be much better if the button needed to be pressed in conjunction with another, or at least held down for a while. Unfortunately, it's all too easy (whilst half asleep) to hit the daylight savings button by accident, thereby inducing mad (I've overslept) panic or relaxed (let's have another hour in bed) undeserved bliss!

Good choice

(4 out of 5) by J. Hopkins on Oct 1, 2007 (UK)
Great alarm clock and would recommend, only found one drawback which is the brightness of the backlight as even the lower setting lights up the room slightly and I find myself turning the clock around.

How simple to use

(5 out of 5) by Bunty on Sep 25, 2007
Even my button hating husband can set this alarm, its easy to use, clear to see and the weekend functionality is brilliant.

LCD display a little weak

(3 out of 5) by Seta on Sep 14, 2007
I loved the clock and its features. The radio quality was very good. All in all, I agree with the positive points made by other reviewers.

However my bedside table is 4 feet away (no choice!) and I had trouble seeing the time display when waking up in the dark room all bleary eyed, even with full brightness setting switched on. Reluctantly, I had to return it.

Its not a product design fault; I guess an LCD clock display is not for me, but I can't give it 4 or 5 stars either.

I like it

(4 out of 5) by John W on Sep 12, 2007 (Shropshire)
I like this very much, it does what it says on the tin without any fuss, and very straightforward to use.

I particularly like the LCD screen, which as well as the time also shows you the alarm time set. I would think this screen may be less easy to read from across the room than the traditional bright LED, but it's just fine on my bedside table.
