Great Accessory
(5 out of 5) by P. Brownsword on Aug 12, 2008 (UK)It does it's job brilliantly. Designed specifically for the Sony Alpha DSLR and the A200 fits perfectly inside, as will the A350 and A700. There are two side pockets for memory cards/filters and a lengthy shoulder strap.
The only down side is the side pockets aren't really big enough for the charger, due to the size of the UK plug. It will fit inside the main case however, but be careful not to scratch your camera.

Fantastic
(5 out of 5) by R.Evans on Oct 8, 2008 (UK Devon)Very good product, keeps my Sony a350 very safe. Only downside is a lack of room to put the charger with its cable. This only applies to the UK plug. Although you can put it in the main compartment with the camera.

Sony Alpha Case

Quite compact & easy to put into a larger backpack if hiking.
Only down side is that you will not be able to fit additional lenses in the case.

Good but not great

Henderson on Mar 29, 2009The Sony soft case for Alpha DSLR's is good, the camera fits very nicely and you can get the spare battery and maybe an extra memory card in the side pockets too. Unfortunately you can't get the battery charger in a side pocket with a UK plug on it. You can get it into the case with the camera but this risks damaging the camera, I would have liked more space or expandable side pockets.

bags of room

There's ample room for camera and 18-70mm zoom, without the camera bouncing around but not so tight that you'd struggle to get the camera out. It's big enough to take the camera with 75-300mm zoom but you can't fasten the lid, so it's only OK for temporary storage (I wouldn't want to walk far with it like that.) There's room enough for small items like cleaning gear in the main compartment without using the side pockets. These are a little cramped for anything much bigger than a filter case.
Adequate padding but not over-stuffed, so the external size isn't too big. The belt loop makes it handy for when you don't want it swinging from your shoulder. Twin zips opening from the rear mean the lid is out of the way when you need the camera.
You can probably find something very similar and cheaper without the Sony logo but, judged on its own merits, it's a case worth having.
