Best Budget DSLR
This is a great starters camera, the range of pentax, sigma and tamron lenses available make this a longer life beginners camera than something like the very cheap, plastic body Canon E400 or Nikon D40, The connection to the lens is metal, and parts of the body are metal, which gives me a (maybe unfounded) faith in the structure.
The shake reduction is built into the body, which is a major plus over the Canon and Nikon versions (which have 'Vibration Reduction' built into some of their lenses - these lenses are much chunkier, and more expensive). The hake reduction system is partly mechanical.
If you were considering a starters DSLR, or wanted a professional level camera, but couldn't quite stretch o the professional prices, this is a nice kit, and has everything you should need to get started.
I would suggest that you get some decent batteries (NiMH), since standard batteries (like those that come with it) last about half an hour with flash.
I have had my camera for a week now, and I absolutely love it. If I outgrow it, I will definitely have my eyes on the Pentax K10D next.
