Most Helpful First | Newest FirstQuality system that really delivers
When considering an iPod speaker system i wanted something that delivered quality sound, charged my iPod and was easy to use. This Jamo system does all these things...and it looks good! I've found the sound to be of a really high quality and the remote control is a nice touch.
If you love your music and are looking in the £200 price bracket for an iPod speaker system this might be the thing for you.
EXCITING EXPECTATIONS - REALIZED!
This system coupled with the iPod could be compared with no other on the market - it is in a class of its own. Forget Apple Sound System and the over-priced Bose - this is the dog's b*****x! Cannot be faulted!
Superb
First off, I never write reviews, however I've had this little beauty for a month now and I'm loving every second of it and so I feel compelled to 'give a little back' by commenting on it. I'd been searching the usual websites; amazon, play etc looking for a good sound system to play my ipod out off and always get a bit uneasy as most of the main sound sytems get mixed reviews. The Jamo i300 seemed to get consistent reviews everywhere I looked and whilst it was a tad above my budget, I'm so glad I went for it. In short, it sounds amazing, is easy to set up and it looks lovely alongside my white ipod (you'll probably want to go for the black one if your ipod is black though). If I'm being picky, the remote whilst completely functional could have been shaped differently in order to tell the forward button from the back button, however it does come with a lasso for the remote which in my opinion is too long and looks a tad ugly hanging from the remote. I simply cut the string on it so that it only had the little end with the logo on it left. I now have a little tail on the remote which helps tell me which way up it is (this will make sense when you see the remote:). This is only a minor grumble though and really doesn't make any difference as the sound system itself really is amazing. Final point is that I wasn't able to place the ipod on the dock whilst it was still in it's case. To get around this there is little 35mm input on the back of the unit however attaching it this way means that the remote can't be used other than to turn up/down the volume. An alternative (which I have done) was to fork out another £20 for a dock extender (the only one I could see was the dock extender from sendstation) and this works a treat and looks like it is part of the jamo 1300 as it looks similar in style. To sum up, if your looking for excellent speakers for your ipod, with quality looks and sound I definitely recommend the Jamo i300.
Remarkable for the money
As a musician and hi-fi nut I didn't expect too much from this Jamo item but I needed something small and discrete for a holiday home where space is at a premium and iPods would be the only music source. To check them out at home I've got the tiny speakers sitting on top of a pair of £1,000 floor-standing hi-fi gems and I have to say no-one can tell which ones are playing the music ! I'm using uncompressed files on an ipod classic and the results are so impressive I'm gobsmacked. Well done Jamo, this is a brilliant piece of kit that is so musical it's making me smile. Great build quality and it looks nice too. Anybody wondering which dock/speaker setup to buy under £350 just get this you won't be disappointed.
The Gold Standard
I've heard an awful lot of ipod speakers and i've bought quite a few!! These Jamos are miles better than anything else on the market. It's not fair to compare these to the ubiquitous Bose sounddock. This is in a different class. I'm by no means an 'audiophile' and I'm not going to bang on about soundstage, detail and all that malarkey. I'm just a music lover and this system sounds fabulous - comparable with my Onkyo player with KEF speakers. Do not hesitate to buy these speakers.
