What they said...

(5 out of 5) by Martin White on Nov 25, 2008 (East Lothian, Scotland)
I dont think Ive seen many 5 star accross the board reviews on Amazon but I agree with everyone else. We got ours about two years ago now to replace a good quality stereo that cost me a fortune many years ago and we havent been dissappointed. It might not have the volume we used to have (I almost considered dropping a half star there) but the quality, simplicity and sheer detail from this system more than makes up for it (half star reinstated). I dont think they make this model anymore but I'm sure the newer ones will be just as good. We also plug our personal CD players in the back of ours, and although it needs turned up a bit further to drive it, the sound is just as good, so its as versatile as you can get. And I dont miss the pile of wires and dusty connectors of the old hifi...

LOUDER THAN HELL

(5 out of 5) by Scott Church on Nov 11, 2008 (PEMBROKE.WALES)
ANYONE WHO THINKS OF GETTING A SPEAKER DOCK FOR THERE IPOD AND DOESN'T OPT FOR THIS BABY SERIOUSLY NEEDS SOME PYSCHIATRIC EVALUATION. FROM METALLICA TO MOZART IT TOTALLY RIPS APART THE RULE BOOK AND BECAUSE OF ITS QUALITY YOU WILL LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC LOUDER AND MORE OFTEN. AND WHATS MORE I BOUGHT IT AFTER READING WHAT THE REVIEWS OTHERS HAD GIVEN IT. ITS HEAVY WHICH IS ALSO A SIGN OF CRAFTSMANSHIP SO GET IT THIS WHILE ITS STILL LEGAL.

Jamo i300

(5 out of 5) by Mr. M. R. Mcgeary on Jan 2, 2008 (London)
These speakers are very good quality, and the closest to hifi sound I have owned. The 300 watts is miss leading as my logitech Z-2300 seemed to go louder at 200Watts, but that is a bigger system and sub, the quality of which is very high but not warm like the jamos. If you want bass then the logitechs are the way forward. The jamos dont go down that low. With the jamos I found The sats need to be raised and placed a large distance apart to get the best sound. Overal not a bad system, do miss the low end bass of the logitechs. For most use the Jamos are fine. The mid-range is the best I have had for 2.1 set ups withh the sats doing quiet a bit of work. Overall happy. Decision rests on if you need a loud party system or a refined system that can deliver moderatly loud volumes.

Finding these speakers makes reading reviews worthwhile!

I bought these speakers in probably the same circumstances as everyone else - looking for a decent docking station for my iPod. My first port of call was Bose - however, after reading numerous reviews, I came across a comment by a lady who mentioned that Bose weren't quite as good as everyone thought they were - a little-known company by the name of 'Jamo' were producing speakers that were cheaper with a better sound quality.

I subsequently switched my research to Jamo - and thanks to the kind buyers who took the time to write honest, informative comments about these speakers, I was able to make a wise choice that I would otherwise have missed. I won't go into the technical side of things - it's already been mentioned in great depth on other reviews - all I can say is that everyone on Amazon who has written a review on these speakers has got it exactly right - the sound quality is AMAZING - cranking up the volume does not distort the sound in any way and though the speakers are very small - don't be fooled, they really are mind-blowing. I've got them mounted on two corners of the ceiling and the subwoofer positioned between the two but under a sideboard - there's absolutely no clutter - or dust! - just a small docking kit, my iPod and fantastic sounds.

I will agree that the remote is more akin to something you'd expect on a child's play thing - it's flimsy and doesn't work in the way it's claimed, you need to be standing (or sitting) in front of the speakers for it to work and since all the buttons look and feel exactly the same, it's difficult to find the right one on a dark Winter evening. However, I couldn't reduce the 5 star rating for something as trivial as that, the quality of sound from this system deserves 10 out of 5 - it exceeded my expectations totally and for me the whole purpose of buying this system was to listen to some high quality sounds - Jamo have certainly come up trumps with that.

Buy with confidence, you won't regret it.
