Couple of niggles - no customer service from Jamo
Like another reviewer, I would really like to give this system 5 stars but after very disappointing customer service from Jamo I can't. Yes it is very well made with a great sound but has a couple of let downs. i) The docking connection is not good. My ipod classic sits unsupported in the connection. All of the adapters are a waste of time so I'm sure it's just a matter of time until the ipod it gets knocked whilst in place in the dock and the connections become bent or wobbly. ii) I dropped my rating to 4 stars (& considered 3) because Jamo have completely ignored my contacts over problems with the very tacky remote control. Contrary to the advertising ("..Using radio frequencies, it can transmit a signal from metres away and even through obstacles such as furniture, ceilings or walls. You can control the i300, your iPod and your music choices even if you're in a completely different room" - not true) this is a very poor remote. My control only works within a few metres of the unit, and then only if standing straight in front of it. It's battery also lasted just a couple of months. Not such a big deal maybe but I have I dropped my star rating simply because Jamo can't even be bothered to reply to polite emails pointing this out. I hope nothing more serious develops with this as I don't hold out hope of Jamo being interested.

Breathtaking quality for the price
I'm an old fogey and a music fan. I have lived with a high quality separates HiFi system for many years and I have never previously considered buying anything else. However it has become obvious that the world is moving on and the way music is purchased and stored has left CDs increasingly on the sidelines. So I bought an iPod and then searched for something to play it through and chose this, the Jamo i300B. I had no idea what to expect having bought it on the basis of other Amazon reviews. The first impression when the box is opened is that it is of a very good quality. A solid, heavy set of speakers, so that a pleasing start. I was struck at how simple it is (being used to lots of knobs to adjust things) the Jamo has a dock for the iPod with a mute button and a sub button with a single dial to adjust both volume and bass. It needs no instructions as it is very obvious how to use it within a couple of moments.
The first album I listened to was Philip Glass' Koyanisqqatsi. It's a slow deep classical album with haunting bass voices. I'm being completely honest when I say that the sound brought tears to my wife's eyes. It was overwhelming. I tried some good southern blues, and the fender guitars were amazing. A bit of female acapella singing was handled with equal reassurance.
This is a £300 iPod system, not a £1000+ stereo system. it cannot match the performance of top of the range HiFi but as a music system to fill a large room with a big and glorious sound which fits neatly onto a bookshelf I can't imagine it being any better. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent sound quality - highly recommended - two minor issues only.
I echo the views of all prior reviewers. The sound quality is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending the product. The two minor issues that cause me to rate this as 4 star are:
1) The remote control doesn't have quite the same build quality and solid feel as the speaker units and dock.
2) The dock will not charge the latest iPods. (Although known at time of purchase this is not ideal.)

Unbeatable sound and very stylish system
I spent a long time looking at various speaker docks and have tested out many, it came down to three: Harmon Kardon, Bose or Jamo. I eventually chose this system and am not disappointed. The sound blew me away - absolutely fantastic!
In a large house with the volume cranked right up, the sound and music can be heard and truly enjoyed from anywhere. Control of base is good and the system is stylish and small enough to grace any style of room.
I have only one criticism (which stopped me giving the full 5 stars), the basic functionality and small, flimsy remote control. What a pity Jamo didn't make it as stylish, sturdy with more flexibility/functionality to control the system from your armchair.
Otherwise a fantastic system you will not be disappointed with.

superb
We have been enjoying the amazing sounds from this very stylish speaker system for a year now, and I am still over the moon with it. Being able to control the subwoofer independently allows the bass to be cranked up for parties without distortion, and the volume levels are astonishing. The speakers are also more than capable of dealing beautifully with classical recitals and other non-electric music, so fantastic for all round performance. I hope Jamo continue to produce this fab piece of kit...
