Nice accessories and such and it responds very well and has quite a good picture BUT for a start the sound from the speakers is tinny, like listening to a telephone. Secondly, and potentially even more serious, I have still not worked out a way to stop the device from stretching a 4:3 image right up the edges of the wide screen. None of the screen aspect ratio settings seem to make it show a 4:3 picture properly. Unless I can find a way to do this soon, it will be on its way back to Amazon.

Mine just arrived today. The picture quality is cheap. It arrived with the adaptor with only two prongs on it, the third I found on the floor, it was just a cheap plastic thing that looked like it had been stuck on during manufacture with pritt stick. It wasn't even moulded to the adaptor unit and I had to go out and buy a 3 way adaptor in order to get the DVD working, but as soon as I pull the plug out the plastic prong get's stuck in the other socket. I'm sending mine right back. It plays multi region just fine, but you can't change the screen format and really ruins viewing cos everything is in widescreen format so you don't get a proper picture. It should have a feature where you can change the screen size. AVOID.

It plays all dvds/CDs with Divx,MPEg-4 & Xvid files i.e .avi files without any trouble and the region-free setting from the box is hassle-free. I think this model is the best in terms of compatibility with various kinds of discs. The picture quality is clear with good resolution/colors and the stereo sound from the box is stronger than any other players. All accessories including a carry case is another strong points on this product

I read the mainly positive reviews of this DVD player so bought it and was looking forward to seeing all my DVDs when and where I wanted - my various regions of DVD all worked without a problem but then I realised that whatever setting I set the viewing aspect for it made no difference and so nothing that I watched be it 4:3 or widescreen looked right and there is seemingly nothing that I can do to sort it out so the thing is going back.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She was very pleased until the sound quality went 'crackly' after a few months months. This appeared to come from the volume control itself.
Amazon very promptly changed the unit. Full marks to Amazon!
The replacement unit has lasted barely a week and is not playing discs at all now.
Here we go again...
My advice - don't bother despite the apparent good value - it seems to be a lottery if you get a reliable unit.
