Well worth the money!!
I spent a few weeks searching for the right speakers for my IPOD video, and found the mm50 highly recommended in virtually all review sites. The initial price for the black nodel of over £80 as opposed to the white version [£62] did put me off. I waited and amazon finally brought it down to £67 [still more than the white model], so I went for it.
This is one of THE best purchases I have ever made. The sound quality is fantastic and fills a room very well. I travel a lot, so spend a fair bit of time in hotels...so this will do the trick for my next trip in few weeks...hurray....
Pros
1. Richness of sound
2. Bass feedback is awesome at reasonably high volumes
3. It is a quite sexy looking number....it comes in black...what else do you need
4. The remote control is very handy...and works well
5. It charges the Ipod as well been able to use to sync to PC/mac
However I have a couple of moans...
1. The adapter was not designed to fit in the case supplied. A minor gripe..but it means i have to carry it in a separate bag.
2. It would have been very useful if the volume controls on the remote and/or the speakers had illuminating buttons which would made night time use easier. Its bad enough that the Ipod does not have this either.
Overall, for this price and quality...I reckon you have a winner!!

One of the best gadgets I have brought!
I have owned these speakers for some time now and they go everywhere, in the bathroom, garden parties, BBQ's,stag doo's, holidays, in the kitchen etc. I love them and i would re-buy them in a moment. The thing I love is that these are the only rechargeable speakers I could find, which means using them out and about continoulsy does not mean you will be spending a fortune on batteries- all you do is just plug them in to charge over night and the next day another 7 hrs -10hrs play back is yours!
Since buying these speakers and having demands from many friends to bring them along to BBQ's etc many others have brought them since seeing them in action.
A full recommendation from me.

Portable and powerful
I wanted to purchase some speakers for our impending holiday and was drawn to these. I was after something to take on holiday (so not too big) and also something that I could plug in at home when I was having people round. This is a superb bit of kit, especially for the price and size. It's rechargeable and last well. The sound is full and although the 3D is a little pointless, it does make a slight difference. It comes in a lovely carry case which fits the remote control in (but not the power supply) and is a nice touch.
The remote is weak, but then again I can't see this causing too many problems. Overall this is an excellent product for the money and ideal for someone who's not a real audiophile, but wants a good sound for their pound.

Does not come with the specified "Pass-through connector for data synchronization" - And not designed for newer iPods
This product was bought as christmas present to be used with my 8GB nano and my wife's 30GB video (5th Generation).
Upon opening the box I was a little disappointed not to be able to find the "Pass-through connector for data synchronization". Resorting to the manual I found that this should be on the back next to the other connectors. This was not the case - all that was there was a faint indentation in the plastic where it should be. Upon phoning Logitech's support I was informed that this was an original feature but is no longer provided. They admitted that the manuals may not have been updated.
The next obvious thing to note was that the supplied adaptor for the nano was too big (even when using a silicon protector), meaning that care had to be taken when inserting / removing from the dock to ensure the connector was not dammaged. The reason for this is that there are only 3 adapters supplied, so something had to be a little bit generic. My wifes 30GB had a similar problem - both adapters were too small, and not using an adapter meant the fit was far from snug, again with big potential for breaking the connector.
Finally upon searching logitech's website for their contact number I stumbled across a tech support FAQ which suggests that you need to ensure the mm50 is turned off when inserting the nano (other devices seem not to require this).
I must admit that I never got arround to testing the sound quality as it was something that I had to return. One of the reasons for buying the mm50 was the sound quality for the size / price - which according to the reviews outshines the competition. The other was the docking / sync cabability.
For this reason I can only give it 3 stars.
Instead it looks like I will be buying the Altec Lansing iM3 in black. I have checked this out in a local retailer and it does have the pass thorugh connector. (Note that it also takes standard [I think AA] bateries that can be replaced, instead of the mm50s unreplaceable chargeable batery.)

Great, but don't expect too much
I bought these speakers recently from Amazon when the price was just £39.99 so I really can't have too much to complain about. Sound is great, speakers look great, whilst the battery life is an acceptable 7 hours or so.
I did buy them in the hope that I could also use them in the car rather than buying a new stereo to pump my iPod through, but the sound is simply not loud enough, so that was a mistake I wouldn't want other people to make. You cannot use these in the car and hope for any decent volume. But in the house the volume is perfectly adequate.
One other small gripe. Every now and then my speakers, even when charged, simply switch themselves off. If this persists I may look into it (there is a 2 year guarantee after all), but for the most part, I use the speakers off the mains and am very pleased with them.
I'm not sure I would recommend them at their full price, but at £40, you can't really go wrong!
