Is this the right cable for you?

Is this the right cable for you?

I needed a USB cable with a mini 'B'-type connector on the end for my digital camera, so I ordered this one. It was obvious when the cable arrived that it wouldn't fit my camera, despite clearly being advertised on Amazon and on the packaging as having a mini 'B'-type connector.

After a little research, I found that there are two types of USB mini-B connectors: 4 pin and 5 pin. My digital cameras as well as my WD Passport USB hard disk and TomTom all have the 5-pin variety, whereas the 4-pin fitted to this cable is something I have never seem before. So, how can you tell them apart? Well, the 4-pin is shaped like a big, fat 'D' whereas the 5-pin is more slender and has angled edges instead of a radius.

I can't really review the cable as I have nothing to connect it to. It appears to be well made and it's more flexible than most other USB cables I've used, if that's any help to you...

Incorrect product sent twice!

The cable supplied was wrongly described. The replacement was also wrongly described. I gave up and bought one at Comet. Not Amazon's finest hour.
