Not a bad little system for the money. Great sound and the remote control can even flick between playlists and tracks. Would recommend.

Avoid unless you like white noise

(1 out of 5) by D. Jones on Sep 30, 2006 (Norfolk, England)
Honestly - this is a great looking piece of kit - very nice with decent build quality. However - as previously stated by other reviewers it can make a nice loud static click (or crack) between tracks. Once you tune into this it drives you insane. I can't believe people are mentioning this and still sticking with the product.

Mine was returned after purchase for a refund. Although the sound is great, how can anyone who appreciates music stand this annoying noise? Don't know what else to say except avoid!

BRILLIANT PRODUCT

(5 out of 5) by J. Jackson on Oct 18, 2006 (UK)
I recently bought this and it is fantastic. After reading other reviews I checked for this crackling between cracks and there is NO problem at all on mine. Fantastic value for money, sounds and looks AMAZING...

Annoying problems

(2 out of 5) by PS on Jul 17, 2006 (UK)
I was given the GEAR 4 HouseParty II for my birthday but found that the system made an annoying loud static thump between tracks, having sent it back the replacement doesn't do it so much but it's still a problem. The remote also seems to get confused sometimes, forwarding tracks when I'm trying to turn the volume up.

not as good as you might think

(2 out of 5) by Mr. James B. Hancox on Aug 1, 2006 (hants)
Loud yes, but truly ropey quality. the sound distorts easily and at low volumes, plus the unit is small so vibration at high volumes makes it sound tinny. You clearly get what you pay for.

in addition my new 30gb ipod needs to be 'soved' pretty hard for the connectors to recognise it and start to play through the speakers... so i'm not too keen to connect it in case the ipod breaks...
