Finally solved the home phone problem
Over the last few years, we've had various DECT products of varying quality, longevity and functionality in our home. This trio of Panasonic phones, which I bought six months ago, looks set to both meet our needs and outlast our previous models.
The knocked back matt silver finish recedes subtly into the background in each household location. The ergonomics are good, suiting both the young kids and adults alike. The directory has to be typed in - no importation facility - but once done is easily propogated amongst the other phones. Each phone has a speaker for hands-free use as well as being useful to monitor calls whilst a message is left (on all three phones simultaneously). Transfering calls is easy to do and the intercom feature is easy to use - you just need to remember that phone 1 is in the kitchen, phone 2 in the lounge, etc. The phones are reasuringly robust and have survived relatively rough handling by kids. The three base units are small and elegant; also in knocked back matt silver. The answering machine function can be controlled and used from any of the phones.
I like these phones!

Great Phones
I bought some cheap Binatone phones - BIG Mistake - Kept them for a year as refused to spend more money on phones. Have recently purchased the above and am so pleased with them, I can hear really well, my broadband dosn't interfere with the line. The instructions are really clear and set up was easy, buttons are user friendly, couldn't be happier. I would recommend these phones to anyone and would never buy cheap phones again !!!

Good quality
This was purchased to replace failed Philips Onis 200 twin set. Looking at recent reviews of the new Philips range, I believe they do not transfer the phone book to every handset i.e. no sharing, whereas the Panasonic KX-TG7123ES does using Copy All and sending the numbers - easy!
The other handy thing is the backlit display. But the best thing about this handset is the speaker phone quality, it's clear and plently of volume to satisfy most users(better than the Philips).
Build quality is good, answer phone allows up to 7 rings and is easy to set up. The messages can be accessed from the handset though not played with this feature. The intercom facility is also useful, and i believe it can transfer calls between handsets as well.
Menu is easy to access with the central toggle switch.
All round good package for the money.

Possibly the best cordless phone system
We bought this set after hours of deliberating and comment reading. I can confirm most if not all of the positive comments posted for this product.
The build quality of this phone is excellent, not one part of the exterior looks tacky. The call quality of this phone is superb, even at long distances.
To illustrate: the base station is at the front of our house, and I placed a call next to the base station and walked around the house. Usually, with our old analogue system, the call would fade in and out as I walked behind internal walls, but with this system the quality stays at 100%. So to really test the phone, I moved the base station behind the first internal wall of the house, and began to walk down the garden. Bearing in mind that there are now 2 internal walls and an external wall too. Lets just say that I reached the bottom of our 170ft garden and the call was still superb!
I can agree with one of the commenters below, not to tell your kids about the intercom feature... EVER.
The answer machine is great and can be set to 'auto' which, when no messages are stored it rings five times and then picks up, after the first message is left the answer machine will pick up after two rings. Which is a better system than on our old BT phones. Remote Answer login is also a great feature when you're away from home for a weekend. You ring your own number, and wait for the machine to pickup (if it rings 3 times you know there's no messages to check, so you can hang up and not get charged) if there are messages you wait for the greeting message and type in your Remote code (set by yourself) and away you go.
This set is great, much better than any of the BT phones

Excellent Phone System
I bought this to replace a BT digital cordless system which had gone faulty. I have had the Panasonic set for a few weeks now and I am very pleased with it. It all works very well with good clear sound. I like the fact that you can enter names and numbers into one handset phonebook and then transfer them to the other handsets. I can't really find anything negative to say about it. Highly recommended.
