good buy for plasma
plasma or lcd...........i went plasma. this was the best looking pic i could find for a grand (shop around with bracket too) and i was not disappointed. distance you sit from all large screens matters. i looked at sony 40" and this one, the pic was far better on this one from 6-8 feet in the same shop, same source. excellent dvd pic with my old toshiba- can't wait for a new upscaling dvd. freeview pic good to ok, some channels not so good even on 70% signal but its free (free- view), so cant complain. you can tell the old series, (ie fools and horses- quite fuzzy) then on comes new bbc nature prog and pic is amazing.
easy to use and set up
does stand 3" off wall with panasonic wall mount, very weighty so need proper bracket- meaty screws and good wall!
well impressed for the money

Super Panasonic.
The first TV i own'ed was a Panasonic and since that purchase i have felt little need to change brand. I had been saving some money a-side for a long time for a Panasonic TH-42PV500. Then Panasonic released the PX60 range (Successor of PV500 Range) at a very attractive price. If you are thinking of getting this TV i have some advice, go for this model (TH-42PX60 with the floor stand) as it is the best value for money in the range. The TH-37PX60 is normally only £[...] cheaper and when your spending this amount of money a £[...] for the 42" upgrade is a bit of a no brainer. Then there's the TH-42PX600 its the same TV but with a SD card slot and SRS Trusurround XT with advanced surround speaker system and a higher price tag. And the TH-50PX60 upward range is on exspensive side.
As you may know it's got built in Digital Freeview. At the back of the TV you will find, x3 scarts(x2 are RGB),x2 HDMI,x1 Component(with audio input),x1 PC Monitor,x1 audio (L and R output). At the front, x1 S-Video,x1 Video,x1 audio (L and R inputs),1x Headphone jaxx and all the normal basic operating buttons(STR,-VOL,+VOL,TV/AV).
Two of the three scarts has Panasonics Q-link system that connects VCR,DVD,HDD Recorders for easy recording playback (HDMI supports this too). Push the guide button on the remote controller and you have a very usefull 7 day DVB TV guide that you can set what you want to record with the Q-link's system, very cool if you have a HDD recorder (works like Sky plus but for free).
You can buy this TV without the floor stand but its only half the TV without it. When watching freeview the picture is impressive but if you have a HD signal the picture is nothing short of amazing. This is perfect for running an Xbox 360,HD-DVD,Blu-Ray or PS3. Check out http://www.takehollywoodhome.com/ as Panasonic are currently offering a free 5 year warranty and a copy of X-men 3 or Ice age 2 (offer ends christmas eve).
I would recommend this plasma television to anyone, as its clearly one of,if not the best out there at this price range.Iam 100% satisfied with this purchase and have no regrets. Go on buy one, you know you want one.

TH42PX60B is a fantastic pla
This is one of the best plasma TV's. The picture quality is the best out of all, the sound is fantastic and the set up and the menu options are very good. Panasonic really proves that they are the best in Plasma by making this TV. The connectivity is great with two HDMI sockets. The digital TV is great even with a normal aerial wire. The DVD picture is second to none and Panasonic have really done it very well. It has 10000:1 very high contrast ratio showing deep blacks very well. I would recommend this TV to anyone who is a real technolgy freak. I have not seen and HD on this TV, but I guess it would be even better. It has 3 scart sockets and 2 HDMI sockets. The built in Freeview is the best I have seen yet. Change it over to Cinema mode and be prepared to be wowed. Excellent buy. PS/ Look out for the free DVD recorder that most people are giving free with this TV. The first time I turned it on I was struck by the excellent picture quality, it really is superb. I looked at a lot of plasmas before I bought this one and it definitely has one of the sharpest pictures and the best colours of anything in its price bracket.
