Excellent Value

(5 out of 5) by Ms. E. M. Austin on Nov 10, 2006 (Northern Ireland)
I ordered this on Monday 6th November. It was delivered at 12 noon Friday 10th November and at 12.15pm it was unpacked, installed and playing a DVD. Bearing in mind, I am a 80 year old woman, I should imagine anyone will be able to do the same.

The picture quality is remarkably good. The instruction manual and
remote simple to use. If you want a budget price DVD player, at £29.99, delivery free, this is the DVD player for you. You will not be disappointed.

Here's how to do multi region

(4 out of 5) by David Benson on Jan 13, 2007 (Aberdeen)
Here's the information on how to make this multi-region. I've done it myself, and it works. 1) Make sure there's no disc in the player. 2) Press "setup". 3) Scroll to "preferences" using the left/right arrow keys. [If there's a disc in the player, you won't be able to get to "preferences"] 4) Press "138931" to access the region choice. 5) Use the up/down arrow keys to choose region 0 for "region free". 6) Now you're done, so exit and play your favourite DVD from your favourite region.

One thing it's very hard to find out from the technical specifications is this: the player very bad at letting the TV know what aspect ratio to use, so you have to deal with this manually. The last DVD player I had did this automatically very well, so it's certainly possible.

Excellent Purchase

(5 out of 5) by G. Mason on Nov 27, 2006 (UK)
I bought this on the strength of the other recommendations and am very pleased with the purchase. Pin sharp, high quality colour and sound in an elegant slimline casing. Quality brand at a very affordable price. Only downside is that I can't find how to adjust the player to multi-regional DVD setting and it is not covered in the instructions.

DVD Unlocking Menu

(5 out of 5) by MrWoody on Jan 5, 2007 (Southampton, UK)
Hi guys,

I noticed some people were having difficulty with the codes, follow these instructions...

Press "Setup"
Scroll to "Preference" using the LEFT/RIGHT arrow key
Press "138931" and a pop up screen will appear
Use the UP/DOWN arrow key to choose the desired number. Select "0" for region free

Hope this helps :-)

Excellent bargain

(5 out of 5) by D. J. Fenton on Aug 6, 2006 (Kent, England)
After my old player died I decided to take a chance on a budget player.

It had to be multi region, it had to have an RGB scart and it had to look good.

A simple hidden menu on this player will change the region to 0, it has RGB scart (and component) output and it looks really nice with its reflective silver facia and compact size.

It's very quiet in operation and the setup menu's clear and simple to use.

Picture quality is very good for the price, perhaps a little softer than my old player, but that cost nearly £600 so I'm not complaining.

Build quality is good and it comes with a nice little remote too.

All in all and excellent little machine, you won't be disappointed.
