Absolutely dreadful

Quite simply, the performance was vastly inferior to that of my 5 year old Sony 32" widescreen CRT. Though the Bravia is noticeably brighter, it is also extremely grainy and pixellated compared to my old TV. This is especially noticeable when watching content with titles or graphics, e.g on Sky News. The image on my old TV is also much smoother, especially during action scenes.
I am very disappointed as the TV looks very slick...until you turn it on. From reading other fora on video technology websites, it appears that LCD TVs are a long way behind good CRT sets for overall picture quality. Hopefully the screen technology will improve when HD becomes widely available. Until then, these screens will continue to disappoint.
