Exceptional TV

May 30, 2006 - By David Jones (London, England)

This TV is one of the best I have ever seen. It has so many different aspects that are extremely attractive.

Design

The design of this TV is absolute genius. It looks like a piece of art in my living room. Everyone of my friends are astounded by how clean and modern it is. In sexy black it looks truly awesome. It is also nice and thin and just sceams elegance. The only TV where I have sat down and watched it without turning the thing on. Good enough to make you want to polish it at 5am every morning.

5/5 Design

Picture

May even be better than the design but the picture quality is perfect. The colours are magical and the clarity at almost any angle is just scary. When playing a DVD your jaw will drop and stay on the floor for the remainder of the film. With built in freeview even watching low quality feeds looks HD. The picture on this is what made me buy it. Best picture I have ever seen.

5/5 Picture

Sound

The sound surprisingly is almost as good as the picture and in some cases better. Its majesty can only really be noticed at the highest volumes, Nonetheless it recreats surround sound flawlessly. With the speakers not even visble it is a technological mirical how such brilliance can be achieved while hiding perfectly the speakers. While watching MTV with my mates it is wholy appreciated.
5/5 Sound

Easy of Use

Very easy to set up because of its plug and play feature that does the thinking so you don't have to. Menu's are clean and user friendly and the manual is very helpful.

4/5 Ease of use

Connections

Has everything required for the tech junkie. HDMI ports DVI ports the lot. I forked out on the top of the range connections (gold wires) just because its so worth it. DVD,PC,Video games all work and work well. With optimised modes for each.

5/5 Connections

Overall this is by far the best TV I have ever come across. Well worth every penny. Now, when I look at any other TV they seem so insignificant. Im seriously thinking about taking this thing on Holiday with me. I would totally recommend it without a doubt to anyone. It has to be seen to be believed, so don't just take my word for it. Look for it in your nearest Electrical stores. For this kind of money we deserve nothing short of magnificent.

5/5 Perfect

Samsung you've done it again!

Fantastic TV

Jan 30, 2007 - By J. TURPIN (UK)

I think somebody else that has written a review here must have received a faulty TV, as I watched The Decent on this and the Blackness was perfect (The Decent is a film that is mainly in the darkness). No Green or Purple discoloration was visible.

The only fault I would have with this TV is the sound, but who does'nt use a seperate sound system these days?

It is a beautiful television and my X-Box 360 & Wii have a new lease of life on this bad boy, with the help of a couple of HD lead of course !!

I brought my stand of Amazon as well and the TV looks terrific on it.

I have to say the picture on this plasma it better than any screen I have seen, even the SONY's !!

Don't be fooled...

Dec 31, 2006 - By Iain Ross

I recently purchased this television, partly on the basis of the review already posted here, and partly becuase of the specs. Unfortunately, it's not lived up to it's promise.

This was mainly to be used for playing games on my Xbox 360, and watching DVDs, and in both cases, I feel massively let down. The black level is atrocious for a plasma, especially at this price, and I've frequently noticed that what should appear as dark shades of gray actually appear to be a horrific mix of green and purple, almost as if the picture had been bleached. Trying to watch anything with subtle dark tones is a struggle, as any dark shades appear black, with almost no graduation in colour.

Aside from that, the sound is actually pretty good, better than most flat panels I have experienced, and there are a good few connections. The remote, and the quick functions could be a touch more straightforward, and the lack of a decent auto-ratio function is also rather annoying, but tolerable.

In short, if you only ever watch bright films, then perhaps this television could suit your needs. If however you enjoy anything dark, such as a horror film, then steer well clear.

Great TV - LCD vs Plasma Answered

Nov 11, 2007 - By Mr. Stephen D. House (England)

I bought this TV 3 months ago and have been blown away by its functionality and picture. This TV really lives up to the reviews and after researching this kit fully, I can say I'm fully satisfied.

I'm not running any HDMI sources through the Samsung yet, but still the quality is outstanding. I mainly use this TV to watch digital TV and Movies. But have also got it wired for my PVR, a laptop and use it to display pictures and MPEG's from my camera.

All the signs are that LCD TV's will eventually win the day (even though Plasma is newer, crisper, better rated?!). But with this very affordable Plasma TV, you can be sure to compete against the next generation of LCD tv's for years to come.

A solid buy. Oh by the way, did I say it's one of the sexist TV's currently around.
