Poor Show

(1 out of 5) by Jack Regan on Feb 19, 2007 (Ashington, Northumberland)
I'm very disappointed with this thing. The transmission of music from my iPod Nano to my car's radio is so bad that it is almost unusable. There is an abundance of hissing and crackling when music is being played and overall I think I'd rather cart a load of CDs around with me to listen to my music. Very, very disappointing.

fantastic gadget to complement my mp3 player

(5 out of 5) by Mrs. E. Ryan on Mar 4, 2007 (warwickshire)
My husband bought me this for my christmas present, and I have used it ever since. Thought I'd write a review as everyone has rated it so badly. I use it every day in the car and it works perfectly within the midlands area tuned into 88.7. I recently took a trip to cornwall and didn't lose signal till Exeter, then tuned it to 89.1 all the way to Newquay. I use it with rechargeable batteries, they normally last for 2 weeks and produces very good sound in the car. Fantastic for the price and would definately recommend it.

DO NOT BUY!!

(1 out of 5) by J. Bradley on Feb 14, 2007 (uk)
I purchased this item to use in my car but the sound qaulity is so bad that it is unusable. When in use there are constant crackles and feedback and the volume increases and fades constantly.
I tried connecting to my home HIFI system and could not get any sound at all.
Waste of money-please avoid buying.

Worth it - but use the DC power jack and not batteries

(3 out of 5) by W. Dron on Feb 20, 2007
Bought this for a road trip despite reading bad things about it (not many options, eh?). The performance with batteries is ok but not great, and move more than a couple of feet away and the sound really fades.

HOWEVER, plug a DC power supply into the thing and sound quality is dramatically increased. It's really pretty good... honest. Seems the signal is boosted when it has proper power going through it (obvious when you think about it). You get more range for the device as well.

Another tip is to turn up the volume on the sound device to full... this is the main contributor to good quality sound.

I also found no problems using 88.1 FM, which seems better than higher up the scale in my area of London.

And as this comes with a cigarette lighter power cord for just this purpose I'm pretty confident I'll have no problems in the car. It's dead cheap - might as well go for it and see for yourself. I'm not at all disappointed.

Poor sound quality

(2 out of 5) by Dimitrios Hatziemmanuil on Feb 6, 2007 (Thessaloniki, Greece)
I would be happy if the sound quality was up to FM standards but it's not.And its quite distracting trying to find available frequencies whilst driving. I will not be convinced easily though that other transmitters are better, so try for a different way of connecting your mp3 player to your car stereo.
