Essential for the space concious

(5 out of 5) by Shrui on Jun 8, 2006 (Glasgow)
This keyboard just arrived. Up until now I've tried all different types of Logitech keyboards, from wireless to bluetooth to my last one which I think had more add on buttons than keys!

The last one was in the more traditional style of keys but they were very stiff and unresponsive. This keyboard is a nice half way house between that and the completely flat laptop style keyboard. It is also smaller with a lot of the right hand keys and keypad being moved closer together to save space, essential for those like me who have a desk cluttered with too much stuff!

The Logitech diNovo has the laptop style but the keys feel flimsy and fragile and you wonder if it would stand up to constant use. this keyboard while having the nice comfort of the flat keys is sturdy and feels good to type with. Bizaarely my usual number of typos has reduced in the few minutes I've been using it.

On top of that its half the size of my last keyboard and has none of the bells and whistles that annoy me on other keyboards. If you need that junk then this isn't the keyboard for you. I'm sick of that stuff though and the crappy software that logitech supply for it. This is plug and pla... er type.

So if you are short on desk space, want a modern looking stylish keyboard and don't need all those annoying add on buttons then you'll do well here. Pretty Good price for a decent keyboard as well!

Good build quality but cursor control keys fiddly

(4 out of 5) by Computer user on May 28, 2007 (United Kingdom)
The build quality is excellent; the size compact; the keys about the same size as those on a laptop; the length about 40 cm, not much longer than my widescreen laptop; the keyboard light and thin, yet robust; the travel and resistance of the keys good; there is an integral numeric keypad to the right of the main keys. And it looks smart.

If Num Lock is not enabled on the numeric keypad, keys 2, 4, 6 and 8 double as cursor control keys (Down, Left, Right, Up); 1 and 7 double as End and Home, respectively; 3 and 9 double as Pg Dn and Pg Up, respectively; 0 and . double as Ins and Del, respectively. (There are also dedicated Left, Right, Up, Down, Home, End, Page Down, Page Up, Insert and Delete keys.)

A couple of things prevent me awarding this keyboard 5 stars. Firstly the 0/Ins key on the numeric keypad is next to the Right cursor control key and I frequently press the Ins key instead of, or as well as, the Right key, messing up my typing. Secondly, there are narrow Home and End keys on the top row of the numeric keypad and they are the same narrow size as the top row of keys on the main part of the keyboard (which includes the function keys). As with a laptop, the top row of keys is smaller than the other keys.

If you are looking for a compact keyboard with keys about the same size as those on a laptop, with high build quality and integral numeric keypad, then this would be a decent choice. But you may find the positioning of some of the cursor control keys a little awkward.

Great value and really nice to use

(5 out of 5) by old gustaf on Feb 7, 2007 (West Wales)
Having recently lost the use of my left hand side 'shift' key on my less than two year old Sony Vaio laptop, I was informed by Sony that I would have to send the laptop back to them for repair and that they would charge me £120.00. Preferring to hang on to my laptop, I decided to buy this Logitech keyboard, which I have to say for the price is brilliant value. It has great build quality and a much nicer feel to the keys than my £1500 laptop's keyboard. As a result of this purchase I have saved myself £110 and also seem to have improved my typing ability. If all you want is a straightfoward, budget keyboard replacement, this is the one.

logitech keyboard review

(5 out of 5) by L. Brown on Jan 13, 2007
Well what can i say, i am very satisfied with my purchase!

It does exactly as the description says, smooth, quiet, flat, comfortable and stylish. The keyboard is very well organised, and wont take much adjusting to get used to. It has a smooth rounded feel to it, which not only looks cool, but feels great to. its compact, but still has fullsize keys, making it easyer to use.

This keyboard also performs well when gaming, its comfortable and has very light keys, making response quicker.

Would definatly recomend!

Keyboard Clutz

(3 out of 5) by Mr. Johnathon J. Mottershead on Apr 22, 2009 (UK)
Pros: Flat and small with all features of a regular keyboard
Cons: Easy to make mistakes, not suitable for gamers/fast typers

I have often used keyboards with well defined keys so much so when I have been using this keyboard for 2 months and often hit the wrong keys. The compact ability compromises the users ability to type without errors.

In all if you are after a extremely flat and tiny keyboard that still has all the features of any keyboard then defiantly get this.

If you are used to spaced keyboard or like to type fast, this isn't the keyboard for you.
