Brilliant piece of kit - Shame about the price
No doubt about it this is the best DAB radio currently on the market ,alough at this price I recommend pricing around elsewere as I have recently purchased one at £150 mark. There currently only is one model of the Evoke 3 produced by Pure , so from this prospective you will always be comparing like for like... Hope this helps

Same product, two descriptions?
This "Pure Evoke 3 TRI-BAND Radio" appears to be more expensive, but otherwise the same product as the "Pure Evoke 3 Portable DAB Digital Radio" offered elsewhere in Amazon. I can find no explanation of the "Tri-Band" claim in the technical details, and no reference to a "Tri-Band" version of the Evoke 3 on the Pure website.
I can only assume that this is the same product as offered by Hughesdirect via Amazon, but Hughesdirect offer it for almost £30 less.
Can someone claify please?

Mostly good
I bought this model because of its ability to record DAB radio onto an SD card. This function is excellent and really intuitive: just use the electronic programme guide to navigate to the desired programme, press the record button, and confirm that you want the recording on the SD card.
I use it as a bedside radio, and for this is has various points for and against.
For:
- good sound quality, once you've turned the bass right down and the treble right up
- alarm can be set for Monday to Friday - no more being woken up on a Saturday because you forgot to turn the alarm off, or being late for work on Monday because you forgot to turn it on
- adjustable sleep time
- the electronic programme guide is good
- very easy to record a desired programme (no more having to listen to The World Tonight at bedtime)
- will play MP3s from the SD card
Against:
- display is far too bright on lowest setting
- remote control has buttons labeled in tiny black writing on a dark grey background
- the default sound has too much bass and not enough treble
- some controls take getting used to
- should have an SD card included at the price
