A Little Gem!
Absolutely brilliant for the money. I've had mine for over a year and its still going strong. Easy to use, small and perfectly formed and pretty robust too - you couldn't ask for better.

It didn't work! DirectImpact won't respond to e-mails
This looked like a natty little gadget and, of the 2 I received, one worked reasonably well once my son had ditched the inpenetrable instructions and worked out that the shuffle arm has to be pressed for select (the only feature not mentioned in the useless instructions). The other showed no sign of life at all; DirectImpact refuses to respond to customer enquiries and Amazon claimed that, as I'd ordered them well before Xmas, it wasn't covered by their 60 day warranty, which is of course absolute rubbish. To be fair to Amazon, they took notice when I mentioned the Sale of Goods Act and Trading Standards, and have subsequently undertaken to refund the purchase price. I attach no such credit to DirectImpact or their customer service.

Good, but be aware...
It can only handle tunes in chunks of 99, so you need to create folders (no further than one deep) and split your music up between them. This fact is not documented; technical support at ATMT told me this.
It doesn't handle playlisting, or any other means of grouping things together apart from folders as above. Play order is fixed by the player, based on some logic of its own. It will play the first 99 tracks in each folder before moving to the next, so keep folder size down and you could at least group by artist.
It should be formatted before use, or you'll lose what you've put on it at some point. If you really must retain Barbie Girl, copy it to your PC before you format the player!
Apart from those points, I have no complaints at all. This is a really decent little player, the supplied accessories are at least acceptable quality (not all lanyards are equal, but all but one of those I've seen have been perfectly good, if perhaps a little on the long side.) The supplied battery should be chucked out straight away, however.
You can pay more than this for a 512Mb thumbdrive with no MP3 facilities -- this is brilliant value for money!
Three other people have bought (various colours and sizes of) these after seeing mine, which ought to be a recommendation of sorts...

Cute little package
I needed a replacement for my MP3 player that suddenly died without warning. I say the smaller version of this advertised, did some digging and came up with this little beauty. What can I say? It records voice, plays music and even lets you access your songs via folders (unusual for a machine in this price range).
Downsides - the manual is very basic and extremely confusing. I ended up using trial and error to find out how to get around, but I'm there now.
Battery life doesn't seem to be as short as the other reviewer says, but it may be that I haven't played with it enough yet.
All in all, a great little machine, especially for the price.

im happy!
i got this mp3 player as i thought it is attractive and i didnt want a black 1 so this was the next cheapest along with some others. i have been suprised how easy it has been for me to use i am not the most technolgical person but i have easyly been able 2 save music and play it. The only thing is it is eating up my batteries like no bodies business. BUT this may be(probably) as i am fiddling with it all the time and in time im sure i will not use 1 a day like i am at the moment! the buttons are a bit tricky 2 work out at first but apart from that everthing has been ace!
