Good basic hands free kit

(5 out of 5) by R. Heron on Jun 6, 2006 (N. Ireland)
I have been using this Jabra SP500 for about a week and have to say that it does everything expected at this price. My Nokia 6280 connected with ease, The unit sticks to the windscreen of the car and is really not that obtrusive. The sound quality in both directions is suprisingly good and the battery life is excellent (I have yet to recharge it). I am considering buying a second one for my wife. Highly recommended.

Jabra SP500

(5 out of 5) by Mr. S. J. Morawiec on Aug 17, 2006 (Dorset)
To award 5 stars, I really believe that the product has to be excellent in terms of usability, price and most importantly value for money. OK, this item does not have all the bells and whistles of the system installed in my brother in law's new BMW, no graphic display, the ability to use voice tagging on '000s of numbers etc etc etc.

What you get is a very simple system, which is easy to install (seconds) is very cheap and for the average mobile user who wants to answer calls whilst on the move it is excellent. I took several calls on my first day and I asked all of the callers whether our conversation was clear; I could certainly hear them and they me, with no problems at all.

Like everything, you get what you pay for and as I say, my BIL has a system fitted into his BMW, which he, his 2 graduate sons, me, his wife etc etc have still not been able to properly pair up with his or anyone else's telephone, so even if he did want to use all of the miriad functions, he can't because it doesn't work properly.

For making calls, I use the voice tags contained within my Nokia telephone. Press 1 button on the Jabra, speak the name of the voice tag and you are connected. Simpe as that.

So cheap and easy to use. I can only recommend it to anyone considering purchasing one, particularly to the 'ear scratchers' I see on a regular daily basis who still have not got the message that it is illegal to use a mobile telephone without a hands free kit.

Size

Technically it does what it says. I do think the image is very mis leading, as the kit is huge, and very disconcerting having hovering on your sun visor. I really thought it was a very small device to put on dash board.

WYSIWYG

Absolutely brilliant for Nokia telephones - it does exactly what they claim and is crystal clear in my car - it costs less than my normal lunch

Jabra SP500 much better than my expectation

(4 out of 5) by L. Warder on Oct 24, 2007 (Southern England)
I ordered this unit as I was fed up with sore ears from the bluetooth headset. I was expecting poor quality sound and feedback, I was wrong!

The unit is a little bulky but sits out of my line of vision on the sun visor, the suction cups on the windsreen mount would not stick no matter how hard I tried but I am not that bothered. The pairing and connection were effortless, instructions simple so all in all I am very pleased with the product. I am now ordering one for my boss for use on his business trips.
