Perfect!

(5 out of 5) by S. Allan on Jun

I had basically destroyed my old set of speakers with years of heavy metal fury, so I needed something meaty, but not something to blast through into my neighbours bedroom with. I settled for these, and am ecstatic with them. The Sub woofer is awesome, and nicely compact, and the kit was very easy to set up. They come with a little remote control, although it is attached by wire to the unit. This makes quick adjustments to the bass or volume (both independent) very easy and quick. The sound quality is very rich and rivals that of my £500 hi-fi system, probably only very slightly worse because I am playing mp3s and not CDs! I am sure these speakers would be great with DVDs, and pop and dance music too. But i want to assure all the rockers out there that these speakers handle death metal et al absolutely blindingly!

Fantastic sound

I wanted a decent pair of speakers to plug into my laptop at uni, but didn't want to pay extortionate amounts for really loud speakers, as they would simply make me very unpopular with the neighbours. So, I wanted respectable bass, but nothing that would have security banging on my door in the middle of the night. My other requirement was that the speakers should have good sound quality through a broad range of frequencies - I read a lot of reviews of competing products and a common problem seemed to be that PC speakers were lacking in the mid-range.
Thankfully, then, I found that the Inspire T3030s delivered. With separate tweeters and mid-range drivers on each satellite, the sound quality really is excellent. I can hear mid-range sounds as clearly as on my £300 home hi-fi system and the extreme high-end of the treble is also reproduced with excellent clarity.
Out of the box, I was surprised by how small the sub-woofer is. However, its looks are deceiving as it can dish out some very satisfying, deep and clear, bass notes, especially now that I've placed it in the corner of my room. It's not Earth-shatteringly loud, but it does the job. My only complaint is that if I turn the bass up more than about half way on the dial the sub-woofer starts to vibrate a lot, distorting the sound. However, this isn't really a problem for me as the low notes are more than adequate with the dial set to three (out of nine), and as I've said before I don't require over-the-top bass anyway. You may like to knock a star off the rating if you're the kind of person that likes to have the sub cranked up to the max all the time, though.
Overall I'm extremely impressed with the quality of these speakers and the in-line volume control and adapter for games consoles are added bonuses. For the money, these are an excellent buy.

Excellent value and quality

My previous set of 2.1 speakers were in need of replacement as the righthand speaker kept cutting in and out. I decided on these as they were a good price-point - not ridiculously cheap and certainly not expensive plus they're by a trusted manufacturer.
I couldn't be happier with them. The sound is clear and punchy and it's really cool to be able to adjust the volume and level of bass via the handy wired remote control. Much better than scrabbling about and twiddling knobs on the subwoofer underneath the desk!
Trust me, you wont be disappointed.

1 month after I set them up...

...and I still love them. Let's start from the beginnning: setting them up was a walk in the park. Unwrap em all (they were all nicely wrapped up to protect against damage) and just plug everything to the back of the subwoofer. Everything was clearly labelled, and the cables were all at least 2 meters long; more than enough to pop the sub on the floor under the desktop, and spread the 2 satellite speakers on top of the desk at either end.
I've now moved into university accommodation, and of course have bought my speakers with me; uni is why I bought them in the first place. I chose these particular speakers because I didn't want to bring my big hi-fi and it's speakers with me, and at this price, who could say no? I took my time, scouring the market for these speakers, comparing them against other speakers of a similar price. Needless to say, these came out on top.
I think the best things about these speakers are the ease of connectivity and adjustment: they plug straight into the green headphone port on your PC/laptop, which also means you can also plug them straight into your mp3 player, cd player or radio - anything with a normal headphone socket. The wired remote sits right next to my mouse, and offers very simple volume and bass level adjustment. Turning the volume dial all the way down also allows you to turn off the speakers altogether, meaning you won't have to fumble around at the power supply.
In conclusion: buy these now! They look stunning (check out Creative's website for the best pics), they sound amazing and are great value for money. What are you waiting for?

Brilliant!

Fantastic sound for a great price, these speakers are just what you are looking for if you want to listen to music, watch dvds, or like me play online games and not have to break the bank at the same time. Once i set the speakers up (which was very easy) i immediately started playing counterstrike source, and i was blown away by the quality of the sound, thundering bass, great mid range...these speakers deliver it all, with a nice little controler too. The only downside i have to say is the size of the subwoofer, not that its a problem for me. Overall 5/5 fantastic speakers, nice design, great quality and exceelent price....BUY!
