Excellent for home or office but not one for photographers
(4 out of 5) by J. Moore on Feb 2, 2007This printer is a good all rounder with great scanner, printing and copying. Very, very useful for everyday office tasks and isn't too expensive to run. The photo capability is good particularly the resolution and detail but the colour reproduction isn't truly photo lab quality in my opinion so if you're a keen amateur or professional photograher then you will need to look else where (and be prepared to spend more!) on a top quality photo printer. This printer is fine for snaps where vibrant or accurate colour isn't too important.
Also if like me you have a "green" conscience you may feel a bit agrieved the ink tanks cannot be recycled.
Overall a great value printer but get your wallet out and look elsewhere if you are a photpgrapher.

A real five star printer
(5 out of 5) by Andy Cochran on Oct 9, 2006This is the third printer I've had to buy in only three years, they just don't seem to last. This is the first Canon and hopefully will last a bit longer. It is well made and has more than enough features to satisfy most domestic users. It is exceptionaly good value especially when bought from Amazon. Try one, I doubt you'll be dissapointed. Best feature is without doubt the separate ink tanks, better value and better quality.

Poor Quality hardware

Great machine

Gorgeous!

Installation is a breeze, as is the ink change.
Only down side (which isn't really), is that it prefers Canon cartridges and paper. They are more pricey, (although, if you shop around you can get some good deals) but quite superior and you get what you pay for.
Lovely prints with no hassle. Text is fine too. CD printing great, and easy peasy, as is everything on this machine.
