if you are not printing everyday 100's of pages this is the printer you will look for.Its easy the setup, usefull navigation software comes along with it and makes you life even easier. Ink consuming is;220306 and today (6/6/06)started to have warnings on Yellow & Magenta inks. Blacks are still more than half tank. And don't look anywhere else to buy inks cheapest way is Amazon.co.uk. I already look every single web site and shop I know and I couln't find any cheaper. With free delivery its bargain. Shame doesn't have negative film scanning function

FANTASTIC PRINTER!

(5 out of 5) by Mrs. L. Sanders on Aug 23, 2006 (LEEDS, ENGLAND)
I ordered my printer on Monday and it came on Wednesday, so good service and fast delivery. The printer was easy to set up and I even managed to do it myself and didn't have to wait until my husband came home! The quality of printing is excellent, the scanner is great and the fact it's so quiet when printing is unbelievable compared to my previous Epson cx3200. The ink cartridges are very easy to install and light up once they are in place. Thanks to all the other reviews I think I have found an excellent printer.

Great Printer!

(5 out of 5) by Deanie on Jul 27, 2006 (UK)
After reading the excellent reviews for this printer here on Amazon I ordered the Canon MP500. I received an Email at 9.20pm Sunday evening from Amazon saying it had been despatched and just 12 hours later I was connecting it to my PC - Well done Amazon and Parcel Force! Now, the printer - looks really smart. After always having Epson printers I cannot believe how quiet this machine is, barely a sound when printing documents or photos - and, accordingly to the manual, it can be switched to silent mode as well. Had it set up and printing in minutes, the software which comes with it for scanning, photo printing etc has been easy to understand and use. I am just SO PLEASED with this - it has more bells and whistles which I haven't had time to explore. No doubt about it Great Printer at a Great Price.

This printer is a bargain

If you want a very high quality printer that does everything that it says on the tin then this is the one.Build quality is very high it looks good, although it has a large footprint so you need a large desk, but it does scan and photocopy and so I can forgive the space it takes up.The photos it produces are stunning although personaly I won't be printing too many of them. After carrying out a lot of research before buying I believe this is the best printer for the money. This last statement only applies if you buy from Amazon because you will not find it cheaper anywhere else I know coz I looked. This printer was ordered on a Monday evening and arrived Wednesday afternoon, now that is service. Buy it!

Fantastic!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr 10, 2006
I needed a new printer to replace my aging HP PSC750 for when I go back to University. Having set up a PIXMA iP5200R at work (and seen the quality!) I thought I would break my alliance with HP (I've bought 6 printers and two digital cameras over the years) and go with Canon.

I have not been disappointed.

The printer is fantastic! It was a little larger than I expected, but it looks the part on my desk. Double sided printing, CD printing, fast copying and cheaper ink. What more could I want?

The quality of photo printing is simply a dream! Colours are vibrant, lines are sharp and blacks are actually black (thanks to the two blank ink cartridges it uses). I haven't timed the photo prints, but it's fast enough for me to do batches of about 20-30 at a time using the built in paper cartridge every few weeks. Results are better than the photolab I used to get my digital prints from! Using the PowerShot S80, I can directly connect the camera to the printer and print them right away without a computer.

CD printing is done using the CD-LabelPrint application supplied. Centered perfectly everytime and looks great using good quality labels or printable CD/DVDs.

Overall, this is a fantastic printer! I've been asked several times how much it cost me and they are very surprised at how little I actually paid.

If you are searching for a good all-in-one printer, stop looking.
