Bought this printer last year. I have previously always owned EPSON printers but got very fed up with always de-clogging the heads.
This is an excellent printer, never ever clogs up even after months of non-use. What do EPSON do to their printers to make them clog up so often? Print quality is very good from standard letter printing to high quality photo printing but not as good as thermal dye printers.
The thing I loved the most about this printer was the bluetooth wireless feature. Initially I tried to set this up on an XP PC but after many re-installs I gave up.
I have since purchased a new VISTA PC and walla instant success. The wireless setup was more or less instant. Now I can put my printer where I want.
Very nice printer for the money.

Canon Pixma MP450 - Brilliant!
I have had this printer for some time now and have been prompted to write a review after reading a couple of others. I needed a new printer and didn't want something too expensive. After hours browsing around on-line I settled on this one and have never regretted it. It prints, scans and copies. I have used it once to print from a memory card but tend to print my photos direct from PC. I recently printed a batch from my daughter's wedding and everyone has remarked on the quality of the photos. If you use the high quality print setting and the proper cartridges the quality is amazing - really clear and bright. The copying and scanning is also easy to use and great to have - haven't we all had something we would like a copy of at some time? It is like having a mini photocopier at home. All in all I can't fault this. I'm not technical at all but found it very user friendly. Brilliant little gadget and amazing value for money.

why i choose this all in one printer
I had been searching for the best possible deal for weeks on an all in one printer and had viewed various makes and models, both in store and on line. I couldnt spend more than between £50-£80 and for that price, the ones available in the shops didnt seem that good.
After looking on line, i made a short list of 4,a HP on at around £40 being top of the list(especially at the price)- both it and the MP450 were getting fairly positive reviews.
What decided me to get the MP450 in the end was the fact that the cheaper HP model only had one ink cartride, utilized for both colour and black and white printing - one review for the HP confirmed that for standard printing, black text comes out brown. As this could make all my photo copying, text printing etc look cheap, i settled on the next one on my list, the MP450.
It cost a lot less on line than what i had seen in in the shops and was very pleased that, after ordering it on the Wedensday, it arrived first thing friday.
The printer has simple to use features and the only thing i have struggled with so far is loading the ink cartridges. I didnt understand they had to actually be inserted into the cartridge holders and it took me about on hour to figure it out! I did refer to the booklet and there is a seperate page with a large diagram showing how it is supposed to work, but i couldnt understand it.
I have tried printing a photo, as Canon supply a sample pack of 5 photo papers to try. Good quality photo came out. Printing from the pc is easy, as is the photo copying. It was more for printing off my pc and photocopying i wanted the printer for, but it is nice to have the facility to print photos should i choose to. I havent yet tried to scan anything, nor print from a memory card, hence my rating is a 4 on what i have used.
I am not a computor boffin (as you can tell!) and i need to have things simple to use and understand. On the whole, the MP450 is a nice looking machine, easy to use and good value for money. I am very glad i choose this model over anything else.

Diappointed at first but love it now.
I was a bit dissappointed with this at first because I thought it had separate ink cartridges and I thought it would scan transparencies. (IT does but you have to be patient).
I actually packaged it up to send back until someone asked me to scan some photos for them. I was gobsmacked by the quality and the ease of use. Especially on canon paper this thing prints wonderful photos. I will not be too quick to judge again.
