A really goood TV

(5 out of 5) by T. Mortensen on Feb 7, 2007 (Wales)
I've had this TV a few weeks now. Although I'm yet to test out the TV aspect of it I have tried out using it as a PC Monitor, with a DVD player, XBox, Gamecube and PS2.
Using this TV with a standard DVD player gives great results, a really nice picture that shows off darks while still keeping detail in the scene.
Out of the 3 consoles I tested the PS2 was the only one which was slightly disappointing, it gave a muddy signal (this could because it's had a bit of a tough life, but can't say for sure) whereas Gamecube and Xbox provide nice sharp bright pictures with only slight distortion visible some of the time.
The DVI in function of this TV is Amazing. It's a great quality monitor which can be used to browse the internet (it maps pixel-to-pixel so) the picture is VERY sharp, and since a PC upscales all videos to the TVs resolution (1360x768), video with a decent codec, or from a DVD look almost HD.

If you've been wanting a TV that hooks up to your pc so you can browse the internet from across the room, or play media you've got backed up to a hard disk so you don't have to change DVDs all the time. Or watch freeview upscaled to HD by a computer. Or haven't really understood what I've been saying but like things that are shiny and black, then this is the TV for you.

Sound is an issue

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 28, 2006
Purchased this item because of the spec and style. Previous reviewers pointed out that though resolution is excellent and it is easy to set up - the sound quality leaves a a lot to be desired. I found the sound tinny and strangely that a single voice would move from left to right speakers for no apparent reason. The reason I bought it, and am happy with it, is that I route the sound through a sorround sound system.

Don't LIsten To The Other Reviewer's They Talk CRAP!!!!!!

(5 out of 5) by M. J. McEwan on Oct 29, 2006 (London UK)
I Got This televison over the others because my friend has one and his PS2 looked amazing. My X-box 360 looks cool in HD and as for the sound the others slated it but all you have to do is adjust the Graphic Equalizer to your taste! myself when playing my xbox 360 i put it on music. I would recommened this over the more expensive 32" HD-TV's P.S it's ( P ) not ( I ) as in better picture ( progressive scan)

Darned fine TV

(5 out of 5) by Johnny Somersett on Jul 6, 2006 (aldershot UK)
Had this flatscreen about 5 months now i think....have yet to find a single fault with it apart from the other reviewers note of the sound quality being a bit on the crap side...but yes, it is fine through a decent sound system.

the colors are immensely vibrant and the blacks are really REALLY deep (unlike alot of other screens). Try watching 'Sin City' or 'The Last Samurai' on this TV and you will be aghast with the quality. It really - for the price - is unbeatable. It Definatly Is akin to watching just a small cinema screen.

I use an upscaling DVD player along with this and that really does allow its true qualities to shine. Wanna experiance some mad visuals? Try 'The Matrix', upscaled to 1080P resolution and loud as **** and you'll see my point.

The Look of the set is great (black being the new silver and all that). The Piano Black gloss finish is tres classy and will go with all your new shiny furniture from Ikea or (for the richer of us) from the london interior shops. One thing i found was hard to find was a surround system in the same finish (seeing that the LG nearest one doesn't even have a digital input to the decoder which makes having a 'digital age' set-up pointless as soon as you have to go analogue)....but there is a reasonable Goodmans one that matches perfectly and actually sounds very good.

In all...a fantastic TV and at a great price (tho i paid ALOT more when i bought it!).

Buy it and be the envy of all your pauper mates hahaha
