Today I thought I would request a replacement under warrenty and I called the tech support number provided. After 30 minutes and much rebooting of my PC I finally managed to secure a commitment from San Disk to replace this flash drive. If the guy had listened to the fact which I stated at the beginning of the call that I had tested this device on several other computers and that my PC had no problem with other usb flash devices then maybe he wouldnt have suggested my PC was at fault??
To obtain my replacement I have to contact a distributor directly myself send them the original drive I purchased(containing all my precious data) before they will send me a replacement. After paying for the phone call and considering the shipping costs I dont think I will bother and I wont be a customer again!!
Excellent value but disappointing encryption software
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the disappointing included CruzerLock data encryption software. It is horrible to use and also it does not encrypt the entire flash drive (like PassManX for instance). Most of the features are greyed out to try to encourage to pay for an upgrade. For these reasons it is likely that most buyers will not bother to use the included software so taking a security risk.
I hope Sandisk addresses this issue as it spoils an otherwise excellent product.
A real bargain

The difference between this and the older models is the addition of replaceable covers (for both the body and cap of the device) and a clip that is better oriented for the (included) lanyard.
The first thing that strikes you is the size of the thing - the Micro certainly lives up to its name! Even with the body's cover on it's barely deeper than the USB port itself, and you're unlikely to have the problems with fit that can plague less svelte memory keys.
Users with modern operating systems won't have any issues with the Micro, as it's plug-and-play all the way. SanDisk also include a variety of products ready-loaded on the device for things like encrypting your data and performing regular backups of the folders you choose.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Micro. it's going to store a whole lot of your data for less than many 'no-name' memory devices sold by other merchants.
Excellent value for money
However, if you wish to transfer very big files, like the reviewer above, you may also consider the 2Gb version. That version is slightly more expensive on a unit basis, but it can easily transfer DVD-files (.VOB), which often measure just over 1Gb.
oh my gosh it's tiny!
It's storage is big enough (1 gig), it's so small there is a real danger you'll loose it under your finger nail (well you could put it under your tongue!), its USB2 (quick), you can change it's colour (whoopy do), it has a cool green light when in use...If nothing else the fact that I never write a review on anything must impress upon you the fact that I was pretty impressed with this pen drive. Go get one...
