SanDisk Cruzer Micro 1GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Pen

(5 out of 5) by Mrs A M Clements on Mar 4, 2006 (Tarbert, Argyll United Kingdom)
Amazing, never used one before, read reviews about keeping them slim so that pens will work beside other devices in USB ports.

My computer has two front slots, could be fiddly if you need to use slots at back. Just popped into slot and hey presto - up came the software and stored by files as backup no problem... very very easy to use...

Just need to make sure I put it somewhere safe so that I don't loose it as it is dinky !! Much easier than using DVD re-writer..

Fantasttic Flash Drive

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Mar 16, 2006
I previously owned a Disgo but thanks to its plastic construction, I somehow managed to break it. As a result, the Disgo became useless.

After reading the reviews for the SanDisk Cruzer, I ordered the 1GB version. Opening the package, I was very impressed with the drive. The components are contained within a metal body which means it would be virtually impossible to break it. A lanyard is supplied. A nice touch are the supplied sleeves - clear, blue and pink.

A green light appears at the key ring end of the flash drive indicating that it is plugged in.

Transfer speeds are fast even with USB 1.1.

I highly recommend this flash drive.

Great stuff..

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 26, 2006
Got my Cruzer a few days ago. Very happy with it! It is so small I hang it on my key ring, Great! It looks great, with the metal looking body and color plastic covers. The covers comes in 3 different colors, white, pink and blue. I am using the blue one. When you plug it in the pc, the oposite side lights up in green color. I think it would have been better with a smaler light or no light at all, but it does not make me not wanting the Cruzer. With the software that comes with the Cruzer, you can encrypt and back up files. I don't see when I would use these tools, but I have tested them and they seems to be doing their job. One thing I did not like was the fact that the Cruzer did get a litle warm when using it a lot. So to sum ut: Great iteam! Drawback is the green light and the heat production.

Tiny flash drive, worked first time using windows XP. Much better quality than I expected. Excellent value for the money.
If using XP it is a must.

Even better than expected

(5 out of 5) by Mr. S. Poore on Jan 11, 2006 (Reading, England)
Wow - what can I say - this is even better than I expected. I was expecting cheap and tacky for this price, but already I can see this is the best flash drive I own.

The picture shown by Amazon is now correct. It comes with three interchangeable protective covers (Clear, Red, and Blue). Under the replaceable cover, it a single metal case, which is integrated with the USB connector - so there's no worry about the connector breaking away from the body as with other cheap flash drives. It is ultra thin and comes with a long, good quality lanyard. There's a bright green light in the lanyard loop when it's being written to.

The software mentioned in the description comes on the drive itself. However it doesn't come with drivers - you'll need to download them if you have Win98SE or earlier.
