Mighty, Mighty Mouse

(5 out of 5) by Glezza on Sep 16, 2005 (UK)
I bought one of these about a week after it came out & wow!

I have the normal Apple mouse, which works well & I have a Wireless Microsoft Intellimouse. This "Apple" Mighty Mouse may have a cable (how long before they release a wireless Bluetooth version) but it is the best mouse I have EVER used.

It works great with Mac OS X 10.3.9, and by all accounts it gets even better in Tiger.

If feels great in the hand, the scroll ball is sublime to use & the touch sensitive buttons Left & Right are just so nice to use.

I will be buying one for any Mac I use (and any PC for that matter.)

The old Intellimouse will be collecting dust!

There are better mice.....

(3 out of 5) by J. J. Thatcher on Sep 18, 2007
The Mighty Mouse certainly looks good next your shiny new Mac, but as a mouse it is a bit disappointing.

Firstly, it doesn't fit in the hand very well and the side buttons which, when pressed together, bring up the Dashboard are awkward to use. Secondly, the scroll ball wears out quickly. I'm on my second (and last) MM and the scroll up function has stopped working again. Thirdly, at £32, it is ridiculously expensive for a wired mouse.

For the money, you can get a much nicer rodent from Logitech et al with a robust scroll wheel and proper left, right and side buttons, which wont clash with the look of the latest Mac kit

One correction on first review about the scroll ball

(4 out of 5) by Nico on Jan 22, 2006 (London, UK)
Someone mentioned that the scroll ball suddenly stopped scrolling up and down after three months. It happened to me, and I found the answer on the support pages on the apple website. Rotating the ball in all directions when holding the mouse upside down will clean the mechanism and restore the mouse's scrolling capabilities. Just general maintenence that you have to expect when you have mechanical parts moving. It works well for me and offers the solidity of apple drivers. The only reason why I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that right clicking involves lifting your left finger from the 'virtual' left button. Failure to do so seems to confuse the sensors...

Mighty Mouse review

(4 out of 5) by James Cameron-Morris on Jan 4, 2006
Got my own might mouse!

I'm going to keep this nice and short:

Look: Looking very cool and smooth. 5/5

Easily: it is very easy to use but I has difficult having to right click in the right place but it's been few days now and I know where to right click it. The side buttons which need heavy pressure to active it. The 360-degree scroll, I have to say that it is awesome! I now can do horizontally scrolling, without clicking on the arrow button! 4/5

Features: You get 5 different buttons on it, can modify the actions on it in Mouse control panel. That does include the 360-degree scroll ball clicking and the force-sensing side buttons. 5/5

Feel: It does feel the same as the one button Apple Mouse but it feels comfort and calm to use. 5/5

Cost: £34.06. It is alot of money to spend on, but yet still worth it for me. 3/5

Overall: 85%

I would recommend this product to all Mac users.

wire too short for apples own laptops

(1 out of 5) by R. Chu on Jul 31, 2009
i dont understand why apple would create a product that has a wire that is too short to use. The macbook pro has usb slots on the left hand side of the computer, and obvioucly people use their right hand side for mice.

so it doesnt reach. it literally has to go across the laptop keyboard to get you any possible way of using your mouse.
i just do not understand. its like buying an apple mp3 player charger that doesnt work on ipods.
