Sexy Black Mp3 Philips Portable Speaker for your Sony MP3!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 4, 2006
I was a bit nervous about buying this portable speaker, as no-one had reviewed it, but I'm so glad I did is it it such a gorgeous little thing with great sound!

Not only is it sleek, shiney and black on the front panel (silver on its behind), with a minamilist look, but it matches my black sony NW-A1000 an absolute dream! It has a little stand bit at the back to pull out, so that it stands on its own. It is fully compatable with the sony NW-A1000 and I'm sure many other MP3's as you only have to plug it into where your headphones would normally go. I was thinking about getting one of the speakers with a dock, but sony's one is mega expensive and the other so-called compatable speakers are really only for ipods, as sony's ones tend to fall out of the docking port.

Looks aside, the sound is great, and easy to use, with 4 buttons on the top which all seem to pump the bass up - for such a little thing , I really didn't expect much sound, but you can blast this baby up to party volume! If you do have a sony MP3 like the NW-A1000/A3000, then I would advise that you find the code sequence off the internet to unlock the volume , so that you can turn up the sound on your MP3 player and the speaker set - really loud!

The case for it looks nice too - only down side is, that I don't think you can fit the adapter into it too. I got it so there are some great deals around for it - espcially good for peeps who don't like the Ipod and have a different MP3 player.

A fab portable system to slip into your bag, or carry room to room in your house (great for girls on getting ready to go out!)

OMG!!! This thing is ace!

(5 out of 5) by Chris Gooch on Jan 30, 2006
Well, i have just opened up this puppy and it is immense. First off, it looks the business. Its very sleek, and looks and feels durable and well built. It is perfect size, not too big that it is chunky, and not too small that it is pointless. Comes with a very nice carry case too.

The best thing though (and the reason why you have to buy this) is the incredible sound! I was sceptical about what this could really do in reality but i am amazed. It sounds just as good as my Logitech Z3 speaker system (which has a huge sub) and im not joking! I have no idea how it does it.

Can be powered by battery (6 AAA's - which is quite a lot really!) or by AC/DC input using the supplied adaptor.

For £24.99 i guarantee you wont be dissapointed...i am thoroughly satisfied.

Great!

Was having a difficult time searching for some reliable portable speakers to go with my non-apple mp3 player. read user reviews on Amazon and ordered it. I can say i've not been let down by the sound coming out of them considering what I paid. Took them on holiday and my mates couldn't believe the sound that was coming out of such small speakers. nice and lightweight - the only drawback is you have to choose between filling it up with something like 6-8 AAA batteries or take the heavy AC adaptor with you.

Small package, but packs a punch!

This amazing little wonder is an awesome gadget. The sound that it is capable of producing just blows you away. Although small, its "Digital Dynamic Boost" and "Incredible Surround" buttons really add a new dimension to the sound that emerges from its tiny speakers. It can be made very loud and still retain a very decent sound quality (with only the bass sounds slightly stretched).

I have to admit though that it is not ideal for listening to the more bass-dependent musical pieces (e.g. disco or dance numbers) for one has to keep in mind that there are just two speakers on a little system that fits on your hand. Even so, the amount of bass one feels is very decent considering its size. Given its compact and lightweight design, along with carrying case and stow-away audio jack (which fits neatly in the compartment for the batteries (6x AAA - although I tend to use the supplied adaptor)) this works for bringing along to provide entertainment at any small gathering. My friends and I use it for movie night (i.e. to watch a DVD movie on a laptop) and one actually forgets that the sound is coming from this cute little thing.

Truly awesome. Stylish, compact, portable, awesome quality of sound (beats laptop speakers hands down), loud enough to penetrate walls, provides a sound that fills the space of the room and all at a very affordable price.

Just the Job

Bought this for my Sony NWZA816 and works great. Has it's own volume, but if you turn the volume up on your MP3 player it sounds more powerful. It's really neat and light, only the size of a small pencil case and fits into its case like a glove. Has a mains adapter but you can also use 6 AAA Batteries. Perfect for when we go on holiday, it is well worth the money I paid for it which was not a lot.
