Not sure

(1 out of 5) by Baggins on Mar 8, 2007 (Glos)
just received the battery and when compared against my original it has some differences including a grammatical error on the reverse. The colour is slightly different and it is lighter in weight than my Panasonic original.
The battery says made in Japan but the wrapping says made in China. It is close to my original in many ways but the differences/mistakes on the reverse printing give me cause for concern. Think I will send it back for a refund

Identical to Panasonic Original

I wanted a Panasonic original battery, not a clone, for my Lumix LX3. As far as I can tell, this product is indeed a Panosonic original; having compared it alongside the one that came with the camera, I cannot tell them apart. Its performance is indistinguishable from the original too. Pricey? Yes, but so was the camera, which is superb, and it deserves the best!

Pricey? No!

I have bought this battery as a spare for my LX3 and would like to comment on whether this battery is pricey or not. An original anything comes with a premium certainly, and for sure you can get third party batteries for much less, but to get the original for under twenty quid from this seller it is a snip. I was quoted £40 by a local camera shop and £25 from Bristol Cameras. Incidently, don't use Bristol Cameras if you can help it. They are a total waste of space when it comes to customer service. They will also tell you it's in stock when it isn't. Nope, Amazon has always come up trumps for me with price and availability.

Japan or China ??

(5 out of 5) by G. Lowle on Jul 3, 2009 (Hampshire UK)
A point was made here about the wrapper stating made in China and the battery made in Japan. I have an original CGA-S005E in my LX3 (UK import) which has a battery (supplied by Panasonic therefore) that is 'made in China' I personally think that this battery on sale here is the genuine article. I've ordered one anyway!

Original Battery

Original Battery and arrives quickly. Will also work with the LX3 model. Only down side is its a bit expensive compared to some cheaper clones but they might not offer the correct mAh
