Shinco SDP-6820
(4 out of 5) by Ol G on Jun 10, 2009This is my second SDP-6820 player (the first bought 2 years ago stopped playing DVDs a couple of months ago, just stayed in loading mode all the time). I still went for the same one as it is MULTIREGION and has quite a large screen, it is shock resistant. The first one was used and operated by my children (both under 10) at home and travelled with us all over the place in cars, planes, etc. I think it did a good job for the last two years, so I bought it again.
Very Disappointed

I bought the item for my wife who has recently retired. Over the next 18 months she used the product about 6 times when the DVD started "Not to see" the disc.
I tried using a head cleaner to no avail.
Whilst i was aware that the warranty had expired I think my biggest disappointment was the fact that Amazon was unable to supply me with any contact detail which enabled me to contact Shinco to arrange a repair.
All phone numbers and e-mail addresses supplied ended up as dead ends as did my own attempts to contact Shinco

Would never buy again

After a few months it started not to hold the charge and after 6 months both batteries( i had bought a spare) would not recharge, the on off switch was loose and it kept turning off at a good part in the film and if watching plugged into the mains the jack for the lead was faulty. all in all a complete waste of money. Being overseas there was now way i could return it. I need to buy another portable multi region DVD player if anyone knows of a better more reliable make.
