A Very Nice Camera
I just bought this camera & I love it. I was torn between this and the slightly larger 6mp F10. I can't comment on comparisons between this and other digital cameras but I will just say that so far I have only used the highest quality setting and the results have been excellant.when I plugged the camera into my Mac iPhoto automatically recognised it so I haven't bothered with the software that came bundled with the camera. I would definately recommend this camera to anybody who wants a good point & shooter that can easily fit in your pocket & has a nice large LCD display. I would also suggest trying it out in a shop before purchasing it as some people may find that it is too small & fiddly for them.

Excellent
This camera is all you could ask for and more from a digital camera. It is so easy to use and the picture is pin sharp. I have even had a couple of pictures put into poster format and the inage is still crystal clear. The massive LCD screen at the back certainly helps centre a photo. The design is also stylish. I cannot think of a bad work to say about this camera. It beats other cameras in same price range hands down.

Nice, handy, slim camera
My first digital still camera (although this camera can do movie as well). Slim style slips easily into a pocket. Easy to use with auto focus/exposure. There are options to tweek things if you are a photography techie. Nice touches like can do colour or black and white. Built in flash. Ready to shoot in a second by sliding back the lens cover.

It has a few problems .....
I bought this Z1 at a cheap price from Amazon because I wanted a small digicam to 'point and shoot'. It's Ok but the image quality - resolution - is not good. I have had problems getting sharp images with it. It IS possible providing that you use the 'sport' setting a high ISO so that the camera sets a fast shutter speed, but the other settings are too slow and give fuzzy images. I have a canon A620 and the images on the canon are way superior - but of course its not a pocket camera.
The good thing about this Z1 is the 640 x 480 movie setting - a 1 GB xD card gives 15 mins of quite good video - just remember to half press the shutter button to focus first !
In short - the z1 has problems producing good images - you can get better cameras for the price. If you want a camera to carry in your pocket for those 'impromptue SNAPS' then the Z1 is fine.
If you want quality images and aren't bothered about the camera size , get a Canon A620 or A700 - these are suberb cameras.
The Z1 movie capture is good though for such a small camera - it may be worth buying for this alone , but don't expect good resolution still images for 8 x 10 prints - you won't get them with the Z1 which is a 'holiday snaps' camera in reality.
