Great camera
Working away a great deal I wanted a way to say goodnight to my 7 month old son. So I bought two of these and was initially dissapointed as whilst the picture was good, the sound was nothing but static.
After upgraing the drivers from the logitech web site, it has been nothing but brilliant. 20 min + conversations all static free. So if you're thinking of getting one and using it with skype or MSN messenger, ensure you download the latest drivers.

Good camera
The VGA (640x480) resolution does not appear to be interpolated and the resulting image quality is very good. The boost in dim light feature helps a lot in the evening too. I have noticed that the camera did not seem to cope with an external scene on a very bright sunny day, but this may be fixable in the settings page.
Like one of the other reviewers, I found that there was intermittant problems with severe noise when using the in-built microphone with Skype. Downloading the latest drivers from logitech seemed to fix the problem.
All in all, this is a very good camera and the price is excellent for what you get.

The Quickcam that Can
I bought this Quickcam for my daughter to use with MSN Messenger. I could have spent less on a webcam, but decided to invest a little bit extra after reading all the positive reviews on Amazon. Was it worth it? Yes definitely. Image quality is very good, and the whole installation went smoothly without problem. My happy daughter was talking to her friends within 15 minutes of opening the box. A good product that's easy to recommend.

Superb quality and amazing value for money
The Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Plus is a superb example of modern design and functionality.
I was torn between this STX model and Logitech's QuickCam Pro 5000. I went for this model because it's a newer model, other reviewers say the picture and sound quality are the same (or better) and the software is more reliable and robust.
Setup was very easy, but you'll need to download the latest software from Logitech (there's an option during setup to `check for new versions', or similar). I was especially pleased to see the option to `Install drivers only', which works perfectly. However, the Logitech QuickCam software is too good to leave out; it offers more detailed, superbly effective and simple to use setup options, with quick and easy ways to record a video or stills (which you can email - web based and dedicated email clients are supported).
The picture quality is leagues ahead of others I've used and the built-in microphone works excellently (though it's recommended that you sit within one meter, there is a bit of leeway). I didn't realise that this model included `Intelligent Face Tracking' (using the QuickCam software) like the Pro 5000, so that was a bonus but it places heavy demands on the system as it's software based (zooming in and out), not a motion tracking camera. But it is clever, even working with more than one person on camera.
I paid nearly twenty-nine quid for mine (including the headset) and am very happy with it. I note that Amazon now have it listed for just £20 - this is irresistible! Highly recommended.
