AMAZING

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Aug 24, 2005
This is quite simply an absolutely outstanding camera. Some reviewers have complained about the lens cap coming off too easily but we haven't found this to be a problem at all. The only issue we have had is getting rid of red eye in flash shots - we have used all the camera tools on this one but they don't always seem to guarantee no red eye? Has anyone got any tips on this for this camera or is the only way to do it to use software? But even this is a minor issue compared to the quality of the pictures - they are stunning and the features that come with the camera are breathtaking!

Canon S2 is digital camera

(5 out of 5) by Mr. David Massey on Jan 22, 2006 (u.k.)
i cannot fault this camera, i've had it for a few weeks now and have taken hundreds of photo's with no problems. Absolutely excellent results! it took a few hours to work out the different functions but it is quite straight forward looking back. the images i've taken and the panoramic capability is superb and the sharpness and clarity of the i.s. system are excellent, i would recommend this camera to anyone interested in amature photography and professional alike.

Buy It !!

(5 out of 5) by David A Nichol on Jan 5, 2006 (Galashiels, Selkirkshire United Kingdom)
I am new to the Digital camera market so was unsure of what to look for. After endless hours of research I finally settled on the Powershot S2 IS. I was not disappointed. The camera is easy to use and has a great feel about it, and most importantly takes fantastic pictures. I would recommend anybody who is thinking of buying this not to bother with all the research and just buy it!

P.S. I would invest in new software however to print the picts as I found the disc supplied with the camera not great and also buy rechargeable batteries as Digital Cameras are power hungry.

Battery Life...

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 15, 2006
I generally agree with the statements that have been made about this impressive camera, although I take issue with the negative comments relating to battery life. I have used my S2 to take well over 1000 photos in the past couple of months (including dozens with flash) and have yet to change the batteries!

The disposable batteries that come with the camera should probably be used for test-purposes only - it is well worth getting hold of some high capacity rechargeables. I currently use 2500mAh NiMH Energizers, although any NiMH rechargeables of 2000mAh+ capacity should complement the S2 perfectly.

I hope this helps!

Simply Excellent!

(5 out of 5) by K. Papakyriacou on May 27, 2006 (Cambridge, UK)
I bought this camera as I was impressed by the zoom and super macro features. I can whole heartedly say I have not been disappointed!

My plan was to use this camera until I could afford a digital SLR but now I will put the money saved into something else instead as it would cost me upwards of £1000 for a dSLR to do what this camera does!

I would recommend this 100%.

All my photographs on my Flickr site have been taken with this camera, so have a look and decide for yourself! : )
