Inexpensive And You Can Adjust Volume

(5 out of 5) by Martin A Hogan on Nov 30, 2007 (San Francisco, CA. (Hercules))
Logitech's Desktop Microphone is an efficient and inexpensive microphone that is easy to use. It simply plugs into the back of your desktop with a pink male plug. Go into your "control panel" and set the volume sensitivity through SOUND, then RECORDING and then MICROPHONE. It picks up your voice from as far away as six feet, but the cleanest sound is about one foot from the mic. Too close and you can get distortion. This is a great way to record sound clips for home videos, practicing speech recognition programs or just practicing learning a new language. There is also an attachment for the side of your monitor if you choose to leave your computer tabletop clear. The mic also rotates and can be adjusted up and down about 10 inches.

Very nice microphone.

(5 out of 5) by A. McKenzie on Apr 9, 2009 (London)
Good microphone, mute switch comes in handy as well. I can't really comment on sound quality, but I didn't notice much of a difference compared to a cheap headset mic I used to use. Remember that sound quality also depends on the sound card.

Wonderful microphone

(5 out of 5) by Adam Tyler on Dec 16, 2008
This is the best microphone I've ever owned. It looks expensive and has an on/off switch unlike the other microphones I have ever owned

Works great!

(4 out of 5) by Ms. Emma L. Upton on Oct 30, 2008 (United Knigdom, England, Lancashire, Preston.)
Unfortunately, the reason why I bought this isn't what I use it for. I bought it with the intention of using it on Ubuntu, since my sound card is compatible with Ubuntu, but I didn't manage to configure my audio correctly, thus I haven't got around to getting it to work.
But, despite this, I tried it out on my Windows Vista laptop, and according to my friend, the quality is excellent, and this is coming from someone who spent around 150 pounds for there microphone setup(they use the same one as Chris Prillio), and this came to me as a big surprise, since this is pretty damn cheap!
So, to conclude, if you're doing anything other than very professional work, then I highly recommend this microphone.
Oh, just one major con, when I bought it, it smelt really bad- seriously. But, that didn't effect the quality :P.
