Pro's:
-Loud, I only ever have them at quarter of the volume.
-Nice sub woofer
-Clear sound
-Easy to set up
-Look very stylish
-Headphone socket
-Comes with control unit, so you dont have to mess around on your computer to change the volume.
Con:
-Control unit is small, and takes a while to get used to if you have big hands.
-Recently, I have noticed that using a mobile phone near them causes ALOT of interference!

Excellent, wish I'd bought them years ago!
As a musician, I can't believe I've been making do with cheap and nasty PC speakers for so long for all my video editing and web surfing...
OK these aren't quite hi-fi, and they're not a 100 watt or 1000 watt (or 10k) PA rig. And yes, the mid range is possibly just a fraction missing.
But wow! For the price, they have fantastically crisp and clear treble, ideal for hearing speech clearly, and the bass is warm, full of power, but also really clear. I've found I have to adjust the volume balance of the little speakers and the bass for every type of thing I'm listening to, but then it's always a pleasure to listen to.
I put the volume up to a third or half of the way and it's very nicely balanced and restrained but I wonder if it's got the power too? But then I keep turning it up and without a hint of distortion or strain it's louder than I can imagine you'd normally ever need at home. And plug in your music player and you've got a very handy music system, like the days when they used to make ghettoblasters at 30 or 40 watts (not just 3 or 4 W!).
I haven't heard other mid-range models to compare with, but I am certainly very pleased I got these rather than the others I've read reviews of.

Sony 2.1 speakers

Excellent value for money. Crisp, clear sound with easy control via the wired remote. Only a slight fall-off in mid-range frequencies prevented a 5th star, but this is a minor criticism. For those with limited space this would be an ideal choice.
Purchased for monitoring the process of transferring LPs to CD these speakers do everything asked of them.

Transformation
Samsung TV transformed. Small speakers larger than expected, but totaly satisfied with both seller & product.
Boomy
Got this yesterday and it's great.
I have to admit that I'm a complete novice when it comes to speakers (and watts and hertzes(?)). The only speakers I've ever used are free ones that came with a desktop PC I bought in 1998.
I chose these ones over other makes because of the good reviews and the trusted Sony badge. I have to say when I plugged them up they were brilliantly simple to use and make a really satisfying boomy sound. I love the "bass" dial.
I can't fault it, but then I can't really compare it to anything.
