A beauty for the spare room

(4 out of 5) by Phil Lea on Jan 12, 2006
Gamers will love this: it's an HD ready portable. Ideal for the X-Box 360 or Playstation 3 when you get it...

Good connectivity options including the essential HD DVI (supporting HDCP), a standard VGA D-Sub, Analog Component video (Progressive, of course, for HD), S Video and Composite. My, it's even got an aerial socket and teletext.

Sound's not bad, considering they're only little speakers, but it's the picture that really counts. X-Black seems a little over the top sometimes, the price of a laptop/monitor with this technology is well above that of a traditional LCD, but believe me, you can really notice the difference. Black blacks, intense colours, but not over hue-d.

Just lovely. Put the remote away, though. Somewhere only you'll see it!

What can i say?!

At the time of writing this, this TV/monitor is quite rare. However if you should happen to find one (or go actively looking for one) then dont pass it up. If the price is right (which it certainly wasnt when first released) the this monitor/TV is fantastic. I use it for both PC and HD gaming (Xbox 360 and PS3) however as a standard definition TV it is quite poor, so if this going to be your primary use then you may want to see it in action first. BUT if you want a PC monitor or use/ are going to use HD content then this gives onr hell of a picture.
Comes with several connections; component, VGA, DVI (with HDCP), S-Video and RGB scart. I havnt tested S-Video but im assuming it will give a similar picture to the RGB which is all that impressive. VGA, DVI and component however are.
a Must buy if the price is right and if u need a high clarity crisp PC or HD display. Also i think the remote has a littel bit of character about it lol(although a little on the cheap side).
