This camera is amazing. I love it. Takes very high quality pictures and has many different functions for photo fanatics. The battery last for ages as well, not like previous cameras.

It's so tiny, which is just what I wanted. I bought a leather case especially for the IXUS 700 in Curry's for £29.99, a bit expensive but worth it (I've found cheaper on the web since).

I have had no problems with the camera so far (4 weeks). My Mum and sister both have had canon cameras for a long time and they are very reliable, which is the reason I decided to select this particular brand. I'm very impressed.

If you are not on a tight budget and you want the best quality photos without a huge bulky thing then this camera is for you. Highly recommended.

Wonderful camera can't praise it enough, however be ware, Fuji 1GB SD card is not compatible, causes strange things to happen after a few snaps and some video has been recorded.'unidentified image' error and eventually the camera becomes unresponsive. I am currently trying to find a 1GB SD Card that is compatible, not easy. Kingston also reputedly not compatible, for the higher capacity card at any rate.

Don't let this put you off the camera itself is wonderful.
If I find a 1GB SD Card that is compatible I will update review ;) again

I have now had my Ixus 700 for 3 months and I have never taken so many photos in my life. The quality is excellent, the features on the camera are almost on a par with my Canon SLR and I couldn't be more pleased. You will need a new SD card as the one canon have packaged with a camera is only really good for the bin (my only quibble with the camera). I use a Bytestor 1GB SD card which at the Suprfine setting and max size, means I can fit 320 pictures on. You will also need to buy a case and would recommend a spare battery. Don't look around, buy this camera. You will not be disappointed.

I have just taken delivery of my shiny new Canon Ixus 700 digital camera. It's fantastic & value for money through Amazon. The only thing I would say is save yourself a fiver and just have normal delivery - mine still took 3 days to get here!! But it's superb and I have no regrets over what I was considering: Nikon 7900, Sony W17/P200 and Panasonic FX8. I touched, felt and played with all the others, and arguably the Sony may possibly take better pictures overall but the Canon oozes sheer class.
Go on, do it!! You know it makes sense!!

I dont actually own this camera but still intend to buy one. The review below is has valid points about focus on this camera but if you read the reviews about this camera on www.dpreview.com you will find that this camera has a very sensitive 9-point AiAF system which is the cause of the poor focus. With this feature turned off it apparently takes fantastic pics. This site is free and has great analysis of all cameras, so have a read and make an informed decision.
