Does everything it needs to and does it well

It offers all the basic functionality you need - play/pause, forwards, backwards and volume. The remote can even be attached to your belt.
You can't adjust the playlist (but if you're close enough to read the screen you don't need a remote), but once it's playing you can skip songs you're bored with, replay songs you like and pause the song when the phone rings.
Ideal for couch potatoes, homeworkers, the infirm and... pretty much anyone else who owns an iPod.
