The sound quality is generally pretty good- although a little quiet and the controls can be a bit fiddly and unpredicatble. There is no lock button either so i frequently stop it, change tracks etc without meaning too. ( i use it for running with which could explain the perceived quietness.)
That's all the bad points! _ it's good points are: it is very easy to set up intially. I simply plugged it into my pc and it worked - although according to the instructions it shouldn't have. It is better to load the Nike/Phillips media manager so that you can reinstalled or update the drivers/spftware on it. Then it's a simple drag and drop process.
You can select tunes to play by artist, album etc or there is a random setting which works well.
The radio has a good strong reception (although i usually listen to BBC channels so their signal is strong) and it is easy to flit between the two. Saturday morning runs-listening to Jonathon Ross for a bit and then being able to flick to an MP3 playlist- have been improved greatly.
There aren't many MP3s and FM radio sets about so this is a pleasure to use. It comes with a load of accesories that are really well thought out. Loads of options for strapping the mp3 player to various parts of your body (oo-er!) as there are 3 velcro bands included, that join together or shorten down depending on the size of your waist or arm muscles!
The control panel in the belt is a handy extra that shows a bit of thought has gone in to the design- although they are specifically targetting sports people to buy this- so they should have thought it out! It has all the track controls i.e. play, pause, nest, previous and volume. But in reality you have to use the player itself to change artists and other settings etc.
The player is comfy to run with- has an excellent battery life. Supposedly for 12 hours - but it needed charging after 10 (which is pretty close to the stated time which, is a rare thing indeed!)
This has lots of useful features such as the highly visbile strobe light. Those dark nights on bikes or pavements will never be as dangerous again.
Nike claim that this is 100% skip free and I have used this player for about 5 weeks now and it hasn't skipped once- so i would agree with them.
This is a great MP3/fm radio set. BUT either wait for the price to drop - £210 is very steep. Or buy from the states/ebay. Expect a plethora of mp3/fm sets in the near future so the price will drop. I'll just use this till i can get one with MW so i can get Radio 5 ( clearly i have limtied taste: Radio 2 and Five Live - there's no hope!)
