Philips MMS430 2.1 Speaker System 100w review
This is a facinating speaker system with amazing power. I have hunted for the best speaker for a bargin price for nearly 6 months and I was very pleased to have found this one. There is currently nothing else that rivals the power on the market and if you do want something that comes close to the output you are looking at paying at extra £30 to £40 for an equivilant system.
It is simply plug and play to set up but I warn you it is loud so when you activate it have the volume low. All you gamers just get this and feel your whole room vibrate with sound effects!!! Just one annoying thing, my £200+ sound system is next to usuless now I have the new philips speakers. Apart from that if you have spent ages looking for a 2.1 woofer, snap it up and you will not be dissapppointed. I don't compliment lightly!

Nice sound, easy install and great to look at!
These speakers are a steal for £35. They arrived quickly, was very straightforward to setup and the sound is very clear. The bass speaker can be overpowering if you are using the speakers for `general' PC use with the volume unchanged from its delivery setting but after it's turned down the levels are great.
Stereo separation is very good and unless you want to crack the plaster the they deliver all the volume you could need. The 'on' button and volume is on top of the right hand speaker which is very handy and there is a little blue LED built into the top of that speaker too to show when they are on.
All in all a great speaker system, as good as some others I have bought for twice the price.

Philips mms 430...opinion.
My last speakers (which don't even merit an opinion) packed up so i decided to buy a set of Logitech E230's which i already have connected to another pc in the house. While in a retailer i noticed the MMS430's had been discounted to under £30 from an original £70, now the bad news, there was only one set left and someone had burst the seal and opened the box.Close examination confirmed all internal contents were intact and still sealed - this resulted in another 10% off the price which if I'm honest would have been cheeky of me not to have accepted.
Unpacking and connecting took less than 10 minutes and was so straightforward i didn't even need to refer to the instruction book supplied. The satellite speakers are small but fairly heavy for their size, the right speaker housing both the on/off switch and the volume control (the sub has it's own adjustable level mounted on it's rear panel).
Listening to varied rock music suggests the MMS430's are a capable and interesting set of speakers.Music has a nice clarity which can reach fairly high volume levels with ease.My only gripe is the sub could have been doing with a variable cross-over rather than the fixed level chosen by Philip's.
The set compares favourably with Logitech E230's however the thing that swings it for some will be the appearance - IMO the Philips set look far nicer.

Fantastic wee speakers
Having recently purchased these 2.1 speakers I can say they are fantastic. They produce an excellet sound considering their size and can easily fill a room with your favorite beats. The 2 satellite speakers are excellet and the sub produces deep crunching bass. You can even watch the sub move to the beats, which is a nice added bit of banter. All I can say is that these speakers are excellent value for money and you will not be dissapointed!
