Must Have Camera At Incredible Low Price

(5 out of 5) by Simon Eccleshall on May 9, 2006 (Birmingham UK)
Having owned a Fuji S5000 3.1 MPixel SLR style camera for nearly two years I was looking to upgrade while it was still worth around £100 on Ebay.I spotted the S7000 on Amazon at a ridiculous low price of £199 including delivery!I couldn't wait to fill in the simple Amazon order form and within two days I had it sitting in my hand!I quickly sold my S5000 on Ebay for £80(It was slightly damaged)
The S7000 is just great to handle and easy to point and shoot to get great results.Either the zoom or focus can be operated manually to give a real SLR feel. The video mode is also impressive producing watchable quality pictures. This camera is a must for any semi serious photographer that wants to go digital and has a limited budget(or even a serious photographer who wants exceptional value for money)
Show me a camera that can comes close to this for price/performance and I'll eat my hat.PS this is a 6 Mpixel camera which interpolates upto 12Mpixels.

Not half bad actually

I bought this camera last year and I have to say that it has lots of features and good quality pictures.

However, if I did have a gripe, it would be the speed at which it gets through batteries, and the flash is very poor, I can spit further than the flash reaches, not that I go around spitting of course but you know what I mean. You can use an external flash so that is what I have decided to do. Other than that, a great camera at a great price.

Great entry in to serious digital photography

Fantastic camera, I've used it for about 15months and takin many photo's, it has never let me down.
Offers everything expensive DSLRs but in a easy-to-use package. You cant change lenses on these, but you can add filters which is great for beginners.
Overall the picture qaulity is fantastic, at the prices these are going for its crazy good value!

Good camera, battery life seems poor

(4 out of 5) by J. Smoker on Oct 4, 2007 (Belfast, Ireland)
I bought this camera a year and a half ago. The picture quality seems good, you can shoot 640x480 video which is nice (up to half an hour on a 2-Gb card), and the camera seems well built in the sense that I have dropped mine on the floor/ground 3-4 times and it still works! (although sometimes there are problems with the auto-focus now).

My main complaint is that the battery life seems poor - when I bought mine the camera did not come with rechargable batteries so I just use e.g. Duracell AA and I have lost count of how many I have bought. I don't know how this compares with other cameras of the same ilk but compared to a compact cannon I used to own the lifetime doesn't seem great. Finally the camera doesn't work very well if its cold e.g. on the top of a high mountain I only got 6 shots with 4 new AA batteries before the thing stopped working. My old cannon compact was again better in this respect although the Fuji takes better pictures without a doubt.

Apart from the battery life issues I would say this is a good buy! Peace, Monkey.
