I ordered my Z-5500 over a bank holiday and eagerly awaited delivery which arrived the next working day which was great, the box was pretty big, well packaged by logitech. The satalites were smaller than i expected but dont let that worry you, cable lenghs were pretty good for a pc system and allowed me to run them around the room with ease 10x10 room but had only used about half of the cable length supplied. A note inside suggested the sub-woofer positioned at least 2ft from other electical equipment, I havnt experienced any issues with this although it maybe a consideration if tightly packing it in.

I got the system setup on my PC initially which is running a Creative labs Audigy pro 4 (with external connection unit) initilaly I connected it via the analoge ports which it sounded very good dispite having my soundcard setup for 2.1 speakers (hidden in the creative control pannel). The next day My Tos-Link to Tos-Link cable arrived and I had it running optically and setup for 5.1 surround sound.
To say I was impressed would be an understatement. The speakers are a fairly directional so positioning is important but the quality of this system on a semi-pro soundcard certainly rivaled the best surround sound systems ive listened to in hi-fi linstening rooms. The range of sounds is superb, very clear even the base is very good at low levels despite having never listened to it at anything more than 30% volume as it is exceptionally deep and would be loud enough to annoy neighbours about a mile away if so wished, making adjustments via the external control module couldnt be easier, making adjustments whilst i ride my exercise bike via the remote is very handy too.

Overall I am very very pleased with this system and couldnt recommend it enough.

I bought these a couple of weeks back. the courier driver looked a little strained as he brought these to the doorstep.
The weight of around 25KG wasn't so much a problem, but taking a look at the subwooofer it was a little bit of a shock seeing how sizeable it is. It measures 17"x13"x13". At least it will suit being positioned pretty well anywhere in the room in an average sized room.
Upon setting the unit up in around 20 minutes and connecting the optical port to an Xbox 360, I feel the size and weight of the unit pale away into insignificence. The sound is simply awesome for a £200 unit. I can't make comparisons with a devoted separates system, but I can compare this with any of the systems to be heard in the average UK retailers. It's far superior. The base from the sub can be as subtle or as pronounced as you like.
Waiting a day or so for my neighbours to leave their house, i turned this up to around half volume. what an experience! Sound is well seperated from all of the speakers and it seems no matter what's thrown at it, be it connecting a dvd player, games console, pc, mp3 player or other device the levels can be adjusted in many ways to achieve the sound you want.
2 days into my experience with this unit, the control panel broke. It started blowing the fuse in the back of the sub, then finally packed up altogether. sorely dissapointed, I phoned Logitech UK with the problem. A little wait on their support line before I got a rather helpful guy to explain the problem to. He decided that it indeed was a fault on the unit and then offered to replace the whole system. It arrived from Holland within 2 days and fingers crossed has been fine since.
All in all, logitech have found a life long customer for their excellent service and if they continue to produce products like this at these affordable prices they deserve it!

Don't let the picture fool you the sub woofer is bigger than it looks. These speakers are the ultimum , even at minimum volume the sound is terrific although i'm waiting for complaints from my neighbours. Easy set up with a generous amount of speaker cable what can i say.A word of warning keep the sub woofer at least 2 feet away from electronic equipment due to the strong magnets, All in all great product at a great price.

This surround sound is ground shaking. My room is quite small and my walls are very thin but even with low volume it still performs wicked. This will stand the test of time. This is ment to be for computers but it is easily good enuf for Movies especially for saving private ryan. You actually feel as if you are there. This works sikk with games aswell especially need for speed as it is THX certified. This can connect to your dvd player and console through optical cable aswell.

I still can't get over the sound quality and how awsome this system sounds on my PC and Xbox 360. Words cannot descibe how good it is, Music, Games, Movies etc... Just sound out of this world, you just have to buy it and try it for yourself. Setup was a breeze with the instructions supplied etc... The system was well packaged and there was no way it could get damaged in transit, every component (even the speaker cables) were individually wrapped and all had their own slots in the polystyrene. Trust me just get one you wont be dissapointed. JUST BUY ONE!!! IT'S BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE I HAVE HEARD!!!
