Pure Excellent

(5 out of 5) by Mr. Daniel P. Pearce on Dec 25, 2006
I recently purchased these speakers. And WOW. They are simply amazing.

After reading the reviews i thought it was too good to be true. Quality speakers at a bargain price. The quality of sound produced by these speakers is so rich. I put the speakers to the test with some of the things i like to do on my PC.

One of them, playing World War 2 First Person Shooters, like Call of Duty 2. While playing the game, with these speakers it gave a much more realistic feel to the game. I could feel the vibrations off the ambient explosions of the background of the game. It felt as if they were actually happening around me. The sub woofer produced excellent results. When shooting automatic weapons i could feel the weapon re-chamber because of the pure strength of the bass setting i had on.

I recommend these speakers to anyone. At this bargain price you can't go wrong. These speakers play some of my favourite types of music excellently, from Heavy Metal to Rock 'n Roll to Classical Orchestra. Each feels cinematic in it's own way.

Excellent performance from a budget speaker system

(5 out of 5) by William K. Davidson on Aug 22, 2007 (Northern Ireland)
Based mainly on the reviews by other customers I bought this package expecting it to give reasonable performance for the very low price. I am hugely impressed. Not only is the sound performance much better than I had expected, given that this is as cheap a speaker package as you can buy, but they are nicely designed and feel robust and expensive.

I particularly like the way in which the base swivels in order to change them from desk standing to wall mountable and the separate button and volume control meaning that you can find a comfortable level of volume and simply switch off and on the speakers instead of having to turn down the volume in order to switch the speakers off, as is the case with my much more expensive Creative 7.1 surround system!

OK audiophiles may find fault but I have long had an interest in Hi-Fi and for a budget PC speaker system I am more than impressed and content with them. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better sounding system at 2-3 times the price...and better still they can be bought from Amazon with free super saver delivery! Highly recommended.

1 Year on, and still going strong

(5 out of 5) by Cymru Stuart on Jun 29, 2007
I bought these speakers in March 2006, and they have been fantastic. I was amazed at the quality and volume of sound they can pump out. I would recommend (and have) to anyone at the price.

I agree with other posters about the base, I usually have it set to minimum on the sub, and its still packs a little punch. But most items you will be attaching to the speakers will have a built in bass equaliser that can be reduced if it was a major problem. Besides usually the problem is speakers are not loud enough, but not with these.

If you want to spend less than £100 I cannot recommend these enough.

Exceeded expectations

(5 out of 5) by Kev on Mar 2, 2007 (Cambs, United Kingdom)
Even after reading the mainly very positive feedback I was sceptical - that good for under thirty quid? Well yes, they are that good. Yes - there's a lot of bass but you can independently tweak that down (to nothing if you so desire). And yes, the other 2 speakers are not audiophile quality but an adjustment of the Itunes equaliser to dampen the top (and bottom) ends and pull up the 'middle' has fixed that too. These are quite remarkable speakers for anyone who wants to sit at their desk and listen to music off their PC/laptop that has some warmth an depth to it. Very highly recommended, even if they were double the price to be honest.
